Avert O’Neal Wade, 78, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Bro. Wade was a retired LTC of the United States Army, a pastor, and former State Chaplain for the DAV.

2 daughters: Melanie Ruth Wade Dyer of Louisville and Monica Pauline Conner of Jamestown
1 son: Michael Stephen Wade of Russell Springs
1 brother: Rollin Bruce (and Bonnie) Wade of Russell Springs
6 grandchildren: Natalie Dyer, Megan Dyer, Cynthia Auterson, Dana Auterson, Noah Auterson, and Maxwell Octavian Wade
2 great-grandchildren: Evie Sullivan and Gabriel Miller
Funeral Service: Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:30amCT at Bernard Funeral Home with DAV Past Department Commander Birchel Baker and 3rd Jr. Vice Commander Jonathan Collett officiating
Burial: Salem Cemetery with full military honors provided by the DAV Honor Guard
Visitation: Friday, December 20, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Saturday beinning at 8:00amCT
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the DAV and these can be left at the funeral home.
