Garnet Lee Burton, 92, of Russell Springs, KY passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Russell County Hospital. He was born October 11, 1932 in Russell Springs, a son of the late Leslie and Ruby Sinclair Burton.
At 17, Garnet enlisted in the United States Army and served four years during the time of the Korean War. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam, giving more than 20 years of service to his country. Garnet was a very creative person and craftsman. He enjoyed welding and doing woodwork. Garnet established his own cabinet business, Burton’s Cabinets, and made everything from grandfather clocks to highchairs. He also enjoyed raising a various menagerie of livestock – pigmy goats, llamas, Highland cattle and Paso Fino horses, just to name a few.

3 daughters: Martina Burton of Fairfield, Ohio, Jana (& Joseph) Howard of Lexington, and Angela Page of Clarksville, Tennessee
5 grandchildren: Idania Burton (& Alex Osborne), Karina Burton, Emily Howard (& Jacob Daugherty), Mark Howard, and Kaitlyn (& Trent) Day
Honorary granddaughter: Sarah Stilts
3 great-grandchildren: Hadley Day, Dylan Day, and Harper Day
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers: Jack Burton and Danny Burton; and his first wife, Norma Burton.

Burial: Bethlehem Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard
