Rolan Dean Blair, 74, Green County, KY

 

Rolan Dean Blair, 74, of Green County, KY, son of the late Marion Holt Blair and Emogene Blakey Blair, was born on July 12, 1950 in Russell Springs, KY and departed this life surrounded by loving family on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home.

 

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired OSP Construction Supervisor for GTE Telephone Company and had his own business, Blair’s Construction Company. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the V.F.W. James L. Pruitt #5813, American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124, Past Chairman of the Young Republicans Club, Republican Commissioner of Elections, and was a former Green County Magistrate for the 2nd District. He always had a smile on his face, loved his family and friends, and in his free time, loved to play a round of golf.

 

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Charline Grant Blair on October 28, 1972, who preceded him in death on January 29, 2022.

 

SURVIVORS:

1 daughter: Misty Dawn Blair of Greensburg

1 son & daughter-in-law: Mike & Kim Grider of Russell Springs

1 granddaughter: Sarah Paige Grider of Russell Springs

1 brother & sister-in-law: Larry Wayne & Patricia Blair of Columbia

2 sisters & brothers-in-law: Marilyn Blair & Randy Ford of Elizabethtown and Lesa Lynn & David McDonald of Russell Springs

Sister-in-law: Judy Blair

A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends

 

Besides his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother and sister: Roger Dale Blair and Lois Ann Delk; and three nieces: Kimberly Dawn Delk, Jill Allison Blair, and Amanda Suzanne Blair.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 2:00pmCT at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, KY with Bro. Brenson Bishop officiating

 

Burial: Greensburg Cemetery with full military honors by the Marion County Honor Guard

 

Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Wednesday at the funeral home 

 

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Cemetery Fund or the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church which can be made at the funeral home.
