Howard V. Gaskins, 82, of Russell Springs, KY departed for his Heavenly home on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Russell County Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1942 in Jamestown, a son of the late Arlis “Ted” and Opal Morrow Gaskins.
Howard was a veteran of the US Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He made a career as a carpenter and contractor, working for himself as well as other businesses. He was of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday School in years past. Howard attended Faith General Church. He loved fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting. Howard loved his family dearly and loved spending time with his grandbabies.

His devoted wife of 58 years: Carolyn Gaskins of Russell Springs;
2 children: Karen (Danny) Abrell and Jeff (Sharon) Gaskins
4 grandchildren: Keri (Doug) Lawless, Tony (Katie) Gaskins, Kasey (Aaron) Wilkerson, and Natosha (Jesse) Chitwood;
A host of great-grandchildren
2 sisters: Shirley Carnahan and Joyce Withers;
1 brother,: Dean Gaskins
In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brothers: Glen Gaskins, Danny Gaskins, Joe Gaskins, and Bobby Gaskins; and his sisters: Wilma Ballenger and Jean Gaskins.
Funeral service: Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Gaskins officiating
Burial: Brockman-Kerr Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Russell County Honor Guard.
Visitation: After 10:00amCT on Tuesday at the funeral home
