Betty Jo (Combest) Wheat, 80, of the Sano community of Russell County, KY passed from this life on Friday, June 6, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 23, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana, a daughter of the late Phillip and Ruth Bledsoe Combest.
Betty retired from the Russell Springs Water Department and was a faithful member of the French Valley Church for over 60 years.

Her loving husband of over 62 years: Lynn Wheat of Sano
2 sons, Mitchell (Patsy) Wheat of Russell Springs and Micah Wheat of Chicago, Illinois
3 grandchildren: C’Ann (Ben) Hammond of Russell Springs, K’Lyn Thomas of Sano, and Nickota (Evelyn) Wheat of Newnan, Georgia
8 great-grandchildren: Molly Hammond, Annslee Hammond, Jacob Hammond, Olivia Hammond, Ayden Dykes, Jacklyn Thomas, Eli Roman, and Koda Wheat
3 sisters: Glenda (Danny) Coffey of Jamestown, Nancy (Steve) Shepard of Russell Springs, and LaDonna Cooper of Liberty
In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Dale Combest; a brother-in-law, Rick Cooper; and a sister-in-law, Betty Hale.
Funeral Service: Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:00amCT at Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. David Blair, Bro. Charles Edwards, and Bro Carroll Egnew officiating
Burial: Russell County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Friday morning beginning at 8:00amCT
