Raymond Edward James, 93, Russell Springs, KY


Raymond Edward James, 93, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at The Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas, KY. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 3, 1932, the son of Reuben & Emma (Smith) James.
 

He was of the Baptist Faith, a 1950 graduate of Somerset High School, Honorably Served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sgt. First Class, worked 22 years at National Cash Register, 21 years at General Motors and had been farming in Russell County since 1972.
 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Collins) James; son, Richard Lee James; daughter, Katherine Ann (James) Carroll; grandchildren: Heather Lee James & Ryan Gerhard; step-sons: Timothy Wayne Hosack & Phillip Ray Hosack; paternal grandparents: John Perry & Lydia (Crowe) James; and maternal grandparents: Ernest & Maggie (Goff) Smith.

His wife: Barbara Kay (LeMaster) James of Russell Springs

1 daughter: Margaret Sue Husemen of Fort Thomas, Kentucky

Step-son: William Curtis (& Lynn) LeMaster of Madisonville

Daughter-in-law: Mona Hosack of Russell Springs 

Like a son: James (& Laurie) Reed of Florida

1 brother: Ernest Smythe (& Judy) James of Russell Springs

Grandchildren: Emily Smith, Lindsey Huseman, Morgan (& Jud) Satterwhite, Taylor Huseman (& Tommy), Randy (& Adrienne) James, Skylar James, Annika James

Great-grandchildren: Cyress Gerhard, Tearrence Gerhard, Clarity Gerhard, Matthew Smith, Mckenzie Smith

Great-great-grandchildren: Georgina Satterwhite, Waylon Kuhlman, Jaxson Gerhard, Theodore Gerhard

Step-grandchildren: Jackie, Travis & Amanda

Step-great grandchildren: Nathan & Miranda

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery in Science Hill, KY

 

Visitation: 5:00pm-8:00pmCT on Friday, June 20, 2025 and after 9:00amCT on Saturday at Bernard Funeral Home
