Gertrude Knifley Tedder, 98, Adair County, KY

 

Gertrude Knifley Tedder, 98, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Center in Campbellsville, KY. She was born May 3, 1927 in Adair County, KY to the late Deroy  Knifley and Mary Eliza White Knifley.
 

She was a member of the Knifley Christian Church and taught Sunday School Preschool children for 43 years at Roley Christian Church. She was a homemaker and made popcorn balls for 39 years at Halloween for the neighborhood children who returned to bring their own children and grandchildren.

 

She was united in marriage to Walter Tedder on October 22, 1947, who preceded her in death on June 23, 1996. She is also preceded in death by nine siblings and their spouses and one special nephew, Ronnie Brandenburg.

 

SURVIVORS:

Special nephew: Gary Merrit (Gail) of Campbellsville

Special niece: Peggy Knifley Lawson (J.C.) of Campbellsville

Chosen grandchildren: Walter Lee Brandenburg of Roley and Jennifer Brandenburg Owens of Somerset

A host of other relatives & friends

 

Funeral service: Monday, July 21, 2025 at 1:00 P.M., Central Time at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Brock and Bro. Hugh Withers officiating

 

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 11:00amCT on Monday at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home
