James Wilbert Turner, 55, of Nicholasville, KY (formerly of Russell County) died Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born March 24, 1970 in Hazard, KY to Ned and the late Lillian Rose Overstreet Turner.
James was a truck driver of nearly 35 years. He enjoyed preaching the gospel many of those years in truck stops. James believed in the salvation of Jesus Christ and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was known for his love of feeding people and supporting the mission field. He expecially loved his three little dogs: Little Miss, Snowball and Stomper.
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by an uncle, Kenneth Turner and his Granny, Lillie Turner.

His wife of 12 years: Brenda Burge Turner
3 children: Cassie Turner, James W. Turner II (AKA Buzz), Felicity McWhorter & husband Max
1 stepdaughter: Kim Hensley
2 grandchildren: Jayven & Leiland Burge
2 brothers: Douglas Turner (Lilly) and Ned Turner Jr.
1 sister: Saundra Begley (Roger)
Sister-in-law: Linda Burge
Niece: Stephanie Miller
Special brother-in-law: Jeff Burge

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Hyden Health and Rehab Center in Hyden, KY with Rev. Ned Turner and Rev. Douglas Turner officiating.
