Amon Rand Spoon, 83, of Fairplay, KY passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on January 30, 1942 to the late Garvin and Thelma Smith Spoon.
Amon served the Fairplay community as Postmaster and owner of Spoon’s Grocery for 21 years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time farming and with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly. Amon was a member of Hadley’s Community Church.

2 daughters: Marsha Clarkson (Billy Joe) and Donna Redmon (Kenny)
2 granddaughters Whitney Glasgow (Austin) and Kelsie Antle (Matthew)
4 great-grandchildren: Easton, Sunni, and Mayes Antle and Colt Glasgow
4 sisters: Arlene Corbin, Altarine Hadley (Clifton), Bernadine Judd, and Geneva Sok (Mark)
3 sisters-in-law: Bonnie Spoon, Julita Spoon, and Janice Lunsford (Russell)
Several nieces, nephews, friends, and & relatives
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Alvin and Lester Spoon; his father & mother-in-law: Arnon and Golda Loy; a brother-in-law, Harold Corbin; a nephew, Eric Corbin; and a great-nephew, Cody Dorman.
Funeral Service: Friday, September 19, 2025 at 1:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Shepard and Bro Elbert Hadley officiating
Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation: Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT and Friday morning until time for the service
Pallbearers: Gerald Hadley, Jeff Spoon, Kevin Spoon, Gary Spoon, Carnell Hadley, and Clayton Hadley, Jr.
