Rabon Delane "Toon" Burton, 85, of Columbia, KY opened his eyes to Jesus on Thursday, October 2, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1939 in Adair County, a son of the late Carl & Altha Pyles Burton.
Toon was a member of Trinity Church and loved his church and sharing the word of God to anyone from his gas stations to the nursing home. He always said, "Jesus is my best friend." One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandkids and Archie. The smile on his face when he saw them was pure joy. There was no "sons-in-law", they were his sons. To us girls, he was perfect. He prayed by name over every one of his family, daily.
Although Polio tried to slow him down, it did not win. His life was so active from being with his family and friends, church, drag racing, fishing, golfing, hunting, always quick witted with a joke and a smile. He loved his work families from his days at Burton Bros, B & M Service Center, and Adair County Jail/911 Dispatch.

2 daughters: Tonya Loy (Mike) and Annette Hatcher (Chris) both of Columbia
3 grandchildren: Will Loy of Richmond, KY, Riley Lane Loy of Lincoln, NE and Carah Dell Claiborne (Dusty) of Columbia
1 great-grandson: Archie James Claiborne
1 brother: Ralph (Peggy) Burton of Liberty
1 sister: Gail (Randy) Camfield of Columbia

Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Ethel Hadley Burton; three brothers: Kevin, Mick & Wayne Burton; and two sisters: Frankie Hatch and JoAnn Burton.

Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation: Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY and Monday after 9:00amCT at Trinity Church
Pallbearers: Mike Loy, Chris Hatcher, Will Loy, Dusty Claiborne, Adam Burton, Tim Burton, Michael Burton and Jason Camfield
