Deborah Sue Coryell, 74, Jamestown, KY

 

Deborah Sue Coryell, 74, of Jamestown, KY, formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1951 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Glenn and Lois Louise Seelye Porter.
 

Deborah was a former manager for Kaufmann’s Department Store. She was an avid bowler and loved camping. Deborah was a Girl Scout leader, later becoming a district manager. She was also a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

 

SURVIVORS:

2 children: Tammy Samples of Akron, Ohio, and Tina (and Dale) Stroupe of Sevierville, Tennessee

1 brother: Terrell (and Mary) Porter of Jamestown

3 grandchildren: Julia Brown, David Franko, and Summer Rowland

2 great-grandchildren: Isaac Greer and Jaidyn Adams

 

In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobi-Jo Coryell; her sister, Cheryl Porter; and her grandson, Richard Coryell.

 

Per Deborah’s wishes, cremation rites were honored by Bernard Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

 

Deborah’s children would like to say a special thank you to Mary, Marion and Michelle for their wonderful care and dedication to their mother during the past months.
