She was born on March 27, 1943 to Philip Carl and Ruth Bledsoe Combest at her maternal grandparents, George Willis and Bessie Campbell Bledsoe’s home in the Creelsboro community of Russell County, KY.
After graduating from Russell County High School, Glenda married Osbin Guy Leveridge of Jamestown. Shortly thereafter, Glenda became a military wife when her husband was drafted into the U.S. Army. Glenda was a member of Jamestown Christian Church in her adult life. As a child, she attended Russell Springs Christian Church with her parents and was saved and baptized there.
