Rita Faye Smith, 71, of Columbia, KY, daughter of the late Leamer “Bud” Smith and Lena McGowan Wright, was born on April 27, 1954 in Eli, KY. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at T.J. Health Columbia.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ.

3 sons & 2 daughters-in-law: Jason & Wendy Grant and Bryan & Karen Ballou of Columbia, KY; Tim Ballou of Campbellsville
9 grandchildren: Timmy & Chasity Ballou, Jayce & Heather Grant, Tiffany & Timothy Mullins, Owen & Emma Grant, Ty Ballou, Raylee Lawhorn, Lavonna Durham, Tyler Durham and Treyton Ballou

1 brother: James T. Smith of Louisville
4 sisters & 2 brothers-in-law: Zula & Paul Coomer of Berea, Alva & Don Smith of Russell Springs, Judy Smith and Cathie Rogers both of Jamestown

She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Gaye Goodin.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
