George Kenneth Humes, 90, passed away Monday December 22, 2025 at Signature Health Care in Tompkinsville, KY, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 18, 1935 in Monroe County, a son of the late Anna Lee Humes.
Kenneth, often called George by his friends, was well known around town. He was a gifted carpenter, turning out beautiful pieces of furniture, or just lending a hand helping others build what was needed. Later he worked for the Monroe County School System as a custodian and then as a groundskeeper, until his retirement. Kenneth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed bluegrass music and for many years could be found on Sunday evenings next to his radio listening to a local Bluegrass Radio Show. Kenneth was a kind, soft-spoken man; a wonderful husband, father, and papa that will be dearly missed by his family.
