Kenneth Chester Kerns,79, of Bunker Hill, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born April 1, 1946 in Russell County, KY.
Ken was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

3 children: Lynann (Kelly), Hope (Brice), and Lloyd (Suzanne)
Grandchildren: Carmen (Robbie) and Eric (Stephanie) (and their children)
2 brothers: Lindsay and David
1 sister: Beulah
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Luther, and his mother, Mallie (Guffey) Kerns; two sisters: Shirley and Mary Ann; and three brothers: JD, Buddy, and Walter.
He attended and graduated from Russell County High School, Russell Springs, KY where he enjoyed playing basketball. Later, he settled in Indiana where he was employed by Chrysler for 32 years before retiring in 2000.
Over the years, Ken enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby, NASCAR, and old TV shows such as Barney Miller, Gunsmoke, and The Jeffersons. He was also known to purchase DVD’s from the Walmart $5 bin.
Ken was an avid music lover and especially enjoyed the music of Tina Turner, Tom T. Hall, and George Jones, to name a few.
Researching his family genealogy and discovering more about past family members and their stories was a lifelong passion for him.
