Jonathan Janes, 54, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed on Monday, March 9, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1972 in Oak Lawn, Illinois to the late David Janes and Rosie Crawhorn Kennedy.
Jonathan was a devoted family man who took great joy in spending time with his loved ones. His passion for fishing reflected his love for nature and the serene moments spent in companionship. Whether he was out on the water or gathered around a table with family and friends, Jonathan’s warm spirit and sense of humor enriched every gathering.

3 brothers: Sammy Janes of Lexington, KY, Carl Smith of Greensburg, KY and Walter Janes of Chicago, IL

His aunts: Lou Burton (Noel) of Campbellsville, KY and Carrie Rowe of Chicago, IL

Jonathan is also preceded in death by his brothers: Randy Janes and David Janes, who surely welcomed him with open arms. Their memories will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew them.
In honoring Mr. Janes wishes, the family chose cremation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
