Cecil Thornton, 94, of Milford, Ohio, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 in Milford. He was born on July 12, 1931 in Russell Springs, KY, the son of the late Sylvester and Sally Thornton.
Cecil led a life filled with love and dedication. A respected member of the workforce, Cecil retired from the Ford Motor Company, where he was a proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW). Throughout his career, he exemplified hard work and commitment, traits that extended into his personal life.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Cecil had a multitude of interests that brought him joy. He was an avid fisherman and boater, finding peace and contentment on the water. His love for gardening and the outdoors nourished not only his spirit but also those around him, as he shared the fruits of his labor with family and friends. Additionally, his passion for beekeeping showed his admiration for nature's intricate balance.
Cecil was a dedicated member of Landmark Christian Church, where he fostered friendships and community ties that were important to him. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness, reflected in his deep bonds with family.

His beloved wife of 75 years: Arnelda Thornton of Milford, Ohio
2 children: Sherri (David) Barringer of Milford, Ohio and Cecil Dennis Thornton of Peru, New York
5 grandchildren: Ashley, Ryan, Brendon, Nicholas and Kevin
4 great-grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Graveside Service: Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Landmark Memorial Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio beginning at 1:00 PM.
