Vernice Lawhorn, 77, Columbia, KY

 

Vernice Lawhorn, 77, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. She was born on May 25, 1948 in Adair County, to the late Robert and Louise Stotts McClister. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Danny McClister.

 

Vernice attended New Life for the Nations and was a homemaker.

 

SURVIVORS:

Her husband: Raymond Lawhorn of Columbia

1 son: Jason Raymond Lawhorn (Jody) of Russell County

1 daughter: Loretta Lynn Lawhorn (Kenny Sinclair) of Columbia

2 brothers: Jackie McClister of Burkesville and Donnie McClister of Campbellsville

3 sisters: Bonnie Lawhorn, Helen Willis, and Shirley Powell all of Columbia

5 grandchildren: Cody Lawhorn, Anthony Lawhorn, Mason Lawhorn, Katelyn Roberts, and Bailey Gosser

5 great-grandchildren

Several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends

 

Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia, KY with Pastor Shirley Powell officiating

 

Burial: McClister Cemetery

 

Visitation: After 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home

 

Casket Bearers: Jeremy McClister, Kevin Willis, Randy Lawhorn, Anthony Lawhorn, Mason Lawhorn, and Cody Lawhorn

 

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
