Mary Louise Whittle, 79, a longtime resident of Russell County, KY died Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in Somerset, KY. She was born on November 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Vertrese and Marcia McFarland Roy.
Mrs. Whittle held various titles, but her greatest was being a loving wife to Paul for 61 years, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church in Science Hill.

3 daughters: Leah Michelle (Timmy) DeSpain of Greensburg, KY; Tina Louise (Glen) Jawaski of Science Hill, KY; and Lynn Renee Walters of Jamestown, KY
11 grandchildren: Lucas and Megan Whittle, Dakota Smith, Bethanne DeSpain, Katie (Luke) Parrish, Bailey (Alex) Grodi, Emily Grippe, Jacob Grippe, Peyton (Joe) Grider, Danielle (Gabe) Martin, and Benjamin (Meleah) Walters
7 great-grandchildren (& one on the way)
3 brothers: Steven Roy of Morehead, KY, Danny Roy of Windsor, KY and Larry A. Roy of Russell Springs, KY
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann Whittle and two brothers: Dwight Roy and Junior V. Roy.

Interment: Union Cemetery
