Mary Ruth Scott Norris, 80, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Green River Trails in Greensburg, KY. She was born May 17, 1946 in the Bliss Community of Adair County to the late Noah “Jack” and Beatrice Rogers Scott.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Norris in 2007 and by two brothers: Kenneth Scott and J.W. Scott.
Mary Ruth was of the Nazarene Church faith, a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Library Board both in Bridgeport, Illinois.

2 sons: Bradley Todd Johnson (Cindy) of Gulf Breeze, Florida and Jeffery Scott Johnson (Kristie) of Columbia
5 grandchildren: Samantha Prahl, Morgan Johnson, Noah Johnson, Tyler Johnson, and Tanner Johnson
1 great-grandchild: Aurora Prahl
3 nieces & 1 nephew, several cousins, other relatives & friends
Funeral Service: Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia, KY
Burial: Haven Hill Cemetery
Visitation: After 4:00 P.M. Thursday
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
