David Bunch, 77, of Russell County, KY passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at his residence. He was born on August 7, 1948 in Bryan, KY, a son of the late Lillie Mae York Bunch and Joe Milton Bunch.
David served with the Kentucky State Police from 1974 to 1990, being one of the first K-9 handlers with his dog Rabael. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. David was a former Commonwealth Detective and a striper guide on Lake Cumberland. He was affiliated with Fairview Baptist Church.

1 son: Darron Bunch (Tammy) of Columbia, KY
1 sister: Shirley Rebennack (Bobby) of Edinburg, IN
2 brothers: Michael Bunch (Sandy) of Jamestown, KY and Doug Bunch (Carrie) of Russell Springs, KY
3 grandchildren: Halee Bunch, Isabelle and Gannon Mullins
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Arcilla Bunch in 2011 and three siblings: Marshall Bunch, Patty Roy, and JoAnn Roy.
Funeral Service: Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 2:00pmCT at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Dwan Hadley and Bro. Bill Mullins officiating
Visitation: After 5:00pmCT on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 and Thursday morning until time of funeral
Interment: Free Union Cemetery
Pallbearers: Roger Pierce, Larry Helm, David Knight, Joey Hoover, Dick Scholl and Bobby Sullivan.
