Fern W. Hart-Ellison, 87, of Muncie, Indiana finished her life’s journey on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Muncie. She was born on April 14, 1939 in Somerset, KY to Robert and Bessie Patterson.
Fern enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family. Following graduation from high school, she became a homemaker.
She was married to her first husband, Ray Hart, for 30 years, and her second husband, Charles Ellison, for 22 years.

1 daughter: Karen Hart
1 sister: Ina June Waters (Robert)
1 brother: Ray E. Patterson (June)
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by four siblings: Mary E. Patterson, Donald Patterson (Alfreda), May Sue Patterson Shadoan (George), and Glen E. Patterson.
