Bonnie Rae Welker, 85, Jamestown, KY

Bonnie Rae Welker, 85, of Jamestown, KY passed away peacefully and without pain at her home on Saturday, August 8, 2026. She was born in Akron, OH on December 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Evelyn L. (Latshaw) and Raymond F. Thomas.

Bonnie was the member of the Jamestown Christian Church. Having the love of Christ and being the wife of a minister has lead her throughout many mission trips abroad and stateside. The ministry paved the way to develop and work Christian Camps. Camp Rudolph (Virginia) and White Mills Christian Camp (Kentucky). She was always right by Bills side wherever God directed them throughout many states and churches. You could always find her shining God’s light and being the hands and feet of Christ. What a blessing she was to all who knew her.

Bonbon, as many of her friends knew her as, loved to travel with her daughter, Chrissy. (Europe, Jamaica and Mexico) and most recently, Hilton Head, and Savannah after the passing of Bill. She was always full of life and ready to go no matter how tired she was from her radiation/chemo treatments. Her friends all knew her drive in life was her spunk, sass, laughs and prayers along her journey. What a journey it was!!!! She looked at life head on and accepted every challenge that came her way. Even though Hospice was one of her last options she accepted it with grace and dignity knowing full well she would be reunited with her beloved husband again. She loved her birds and flowers and the deer that she could see outside of her bedroom window. She might have loved her call alarm button a little too much and drove Chrissy crazy and kept her hopping and laughing the whole way. When she was asked to do something there was not much hesitation from her including being the greeter at church via facetime while she remained bedridden

SURVIVORS:
1 daughter: Chrissy Welker of Jamestown, KY

3 sons: Gary Welker (Cammie) of Russell Springs, KY and Jimmy and Jerry Welker both of Virginia
