Jewell Smith, 76, of Richmond, KY died Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born on February 20, 1950 in Greensburg, KY to the late Belknap and Mary Cordelia Logan Smith.
Jewell was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Adair County, a U.S. Army Veteran, serving for 22 years, retiring as Sergeant Major. After retiring from the Military, he went to work for the United Postal Service as a Mail Handler until he retired from there.

Burial: Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12:30 P.M. (Eastern Time) at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with full military honors presented by American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard
