Audrey Trevell “Granny” Hix, 97, passed away at the Medical Center in Bowling Green on Monday, September 21, 2026. She was born in Warren County, KY on September 25, 1929 to the late Sam and Vicki Bohanon Cosby.
She was of the Baptist Faith and was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23. At the age of 96 in the month of July, she was able to finish her bucket list by going on her dream trip to Las Vegas. She loved bingo and slot machines. For many years she worked at the Fruit of the Loom Sewing Factory, Eaton Corp, and also the Kroger Bakery. After retirement, which didn’t last long, she went back to work as a caregiver for Home Instead at the age of 72. She remained very active in life until two weeks before her death. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Deschene; one son, Roy Roark; and one daughter, Barbara Meyers.

6 grandchildren: Lisa Sweetsir (Patrick), Jamie Chilson, Samantha Bogles (Rob), Barbara Jean Hogue (Gary), Victoria Cox (Mark), and Wendell Cook
Several great & great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & many special friends
Her adopted daughter & caretaker: Kim Brown
2 special men who were a part of her life for many years: Jim Manley and Malcome Cherry.
She chose cremation and a celebration of life will be held at the American Legion, 208 Dishmon Lane in Bowling Green at a later date.
Her daughter Pat, would like to express much gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Medical Center and Greenview Hospital for the special care and love that was shown to her mother and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation made in her memory to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.
