Norman Russell Furkin, 84, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Columbia on December 26, 1941 to the late Ural and Corrine McClister Furkin.
Mr. Furkin retired from the Kentucky Highway Department, was of the Christian faith, enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents. Mr. Furkin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Marie Janes Furkin and two siblings: Joyce Janes and Billy Dean Furkin.
SURVIVORS:
4 children: Tony Furkin (Debbie), Barry Furkin (Andrea), and Shelia Bennett (Ronnie) all of Columbia, KY; and Brian Furkin (David Salyers) of Alvaton, KY
5 grandchildren: Savannah Bell (Terence), Ricky Bennett, Christian Furkin (Josh Barrett), Lindsey Furkin, and Josh Allen Furkin (Brittany)
9 great-grandchildren
2 half-brothers
In honoring Mr. Furkin’s wishes, the family chose cremation and no services are scheduled at this time.
