Kenneth Russell Blakey, 75, of Russell Springs, KY passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born December 8, 1950 in Jamestown, he was the son of the late John Sidney and Susie Campbell Blakey.
Kenneth retired as a construction superintendent from Grayhawk in Lexington and thoroughly enjoyed working odd jobs at homes on Lake Cumberland. He was also honored with the title of Kentucky Colonel, a distinction bestowed upon him by Governor Paul E. Patton in 1995. Kenneth was of the Methodist faith.
Kenneth was a man of many talents and truly the definition of a “jack of all trades.” There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, and if something needed fixing, he was always the man for the job. On any given day, you could most likely find him tinkering around in his garage, mowing the yard, or working on his next project. Sitting still was never really his thing, and he always managed to find something that needed his attention.
Above all, Kenneth loved his family, and the title of “Dad” extended well beyond his own daughters. He shared 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ann, and took great pride in his daughters and grandchildren.
Kenneth was a hardworking man who appreciated the simple things in life and had a personality that was entirely his own. His family will forever cherish the memories they made with him, the lessons he taught them, and all the little things that made him so special.
