The 7th annual “Truck It Up” will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 in the City of Columbia parking lot at the corner of Campbellsville Street and Merchant Street. It's an activity brought back for yet another year to offer increased culinary options in Columbia.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – In celebration of America’s 250th birthday this summer, donors can show their patriotism by donating blood at this upcoming Kentucky Blood Center blood drive in their community.
KBC is commemorating the United States Semiquincentennial with its “Red, White and Blue Bell” celebration. As a thank you for their civic engagement, donors at this drive will receive a “United We Give” T-shirt and a voucher for a free pint of ice cream – an American staple – from Blue Bell. All items are while supplies last. Additionally, one lucky donor will win a $100 gift card sponsored by McKinley and Associates Realty in Russell Springs.
A Russell County Community Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 11:30am-5:30pmCT at the South Ky RECC Community Room, 2405 N Main St, Jamestown, KY.
Please note: Online appointments and reminders (emails and texts) are shown and made in EST. For example, if you make an appointment online for 2 p.m., please arrive at the blood drive at 1 p.m.
Donating blood is considered a profound act of patriotism. One in four people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime for a wide range of treatments, but because blood cannot be manufactured, local patients rely entirely on the generosity of donors who selflessly donate to help others.
KBC needs 400 donors a day to provide a healthy supply of blood to more than 70 local hospitals in Kentucky. Blood donations historically dwindle during the summer because of warm-weather activities, family vacations and no school – unfortunately coinciding with trauma season when blood transfusions often increase.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule a donation, visit kybloodcenter.org or call 800.775.2522.
June Dairy Day will be held at the A.C. Extension Office in Columbia, KY on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 11AM-1PM.
The Mark Twain Storytelling Festival will be held the week of June 15-20, 2026 in Columbia, KY.
THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH: There will be a proclamation for Mark Twain Week in Columbia at the Adair County Public Library at 11AM.
MONDAY, JUNE 15TH:
11AM: Unveiling of the mural on the side of the building at the corner of Jamestown Street and South Reed Street. This mural was completed by Lindsey Wilson University (LWU) student, Tezon Mitchell of Greensburg, KY and is sponsored by the Ross family.
Also at 11AM, Jeanie Edwards, wildlife artist from North Carolina, will be doing a brief presentation in the LWU Library.
FRIDAY, JUNE 19TH
5:30PM: Reception in the LWU Slider Auditorium.
6PM: Welcome by Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots, followed by a message from Dr. Robert Brock of Lindsey Wilson University and a presentation by the Arts Administration Program.
SATURDAY, JUNE 20TH
9AM-12PM: Presentations in V.P. Henry Auditorium.
12PM-2PM: Food trucks at LWU and a Vendor's Fair in the LWU Hodge Center.
2PM-5PM: Presentations in V.P. Henry Auditorium.
6PM: A presentation in the City parking lot off of Fortune Street. Presenting will be local historian, Mike Watson. Food trucks will also be in the area.
