Ruth was a homemaker and attended Jennies Chapel United Methodist Church.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers & 1 sister: Everest McFarland, David McFarland, Roger McFarland and Juanita Dunbar.

O. Rodger Harris, 74, of Richmond, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1945 in Richmond, IN to the late Okle & Ettra Oler Harris, and lived there for the last 12 years.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Trishalyn Harris.

Inis Pearl McKinney, 73, of Campbellsville, KY died Monday, December 30, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital. Born in Dirigo, KY she was the daughter of the late James Cohen and Josephine Stotts McKinney.
 

She was a member of the Robinson Ridge Baptist Church and an artist who loved to paint and work puzzles.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Onie Mae Wheeler.

Ella Mae Wright, 64, of Campbellsville, KY was born on May 17, 1955 in Adair County, KY and passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 at her home. She was a daughter of the late Edwin “Tootie” Tarter and Martha Taylor.
 
Ella Mae was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. She loved music and enjoyed singing, especially at church. If she wasn’t playing Rook with her friends or family, she was often found socialising at Druthers restaurant.
 
She was also preceded in death by her husband: Gary Wright; a son: Willaim Clavis Wright; and two siblings: David Tarter and Linda Ford.

Laeticia Ann “Tish” Stubbs, 57, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born in Nelson County, KY on August 19, 1962 to the late Willaim Charles “Charlie” and Norma Ann (Clark) Cissell. 
 
Mrs. Stubbs was the cafeteria director of Adair County Elementary School. She loved being around people, and loved to babysit for her friends and family. She relished being able to go camping with her friends and often reserved a campsite for weeks (or sometimes months) at a time.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 siblings: William Mark Cissell & Thomas Kevin Cissell.

Wayne Armitage, 66, of Columbiia, KY (better known as Barbara's husband), died unexpectedly on Dec. 21st, 2019 from complications following heart surgery.

 

Wayne was a devoted dog lover and rescue volunteer.  Please help continue his work by making donations in his name to "Sugarfoot Farm Dog Rescue" in Columbia, KY. No services will be held. A gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.

Charles Weeden Sparks, 89, of Columbia, KY died Monday, December 23, 2019 at T.J Health Columbia.  Born in Gradyville, KY he was the son of the late Charles Arbie and Josie Dee Roach Sparks.
 
Mr. Sparks was a member of the Columbia Christian Church, member of Men for Christ and a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Air Force.  He was a former Fire Chief for the Columbia/Adair Co. Fire Department, enjoyed making canes and having coffee talk with all the guys at McDonalds.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Victor Sparks; a sister Mary Magalene Sparks Henson and two brothers, Jimmy and W. L. Sparks.

Mike worked for Shoreline Communications for many years, covering fiscal court, city council, and school board meetings in Taylor & Green counties for 99.9 the Big Dawg. He was also former owner of the K-Country radio station in Greensburg, KY.

Mr. Harris was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.

Jerry "Pedu" Thomas Wilson, 72, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1947 in Somerset, KY, a son of the late William "Ham" Wilson & Betty Gosser Wilson.
 
Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a mechanic at Johnson Service Station.

Jerry "Pedu" Thomas Wilson, 72, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1947 in Somerset, KY, a son of the late William "Ham" Wilson and Betty Gosser Wilson.

JOHN ARTHUR ROYSE, 77, LOUISVILLE

 

John Arthur Royse, 77, formerly of Louisville passed away on December 14, 2019 at his home in Sebring, FL. John was born on August 31, 1942 in Louisville, KY to the late William and Viola (Stotts) Royse.  
 
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Yvonne Keeton; and a brother, William Royse.  
 
Mr. Royse attended Ahrens Trade High School in 1959-1960 and graduated in 1961 from Mannheim, Germany.  He also attended Jefferson Community College 1969-1971.  He worked for Corning Glass (Corhart) for 16 years, from there he was self-employed building houses.  Retired in 2008 and moved to Sebring, FL.  John was a veteran of the U.S. Army served 3 years in Germany during the building of the Berlin Wall.

DONNA DEAN AGEE CURRY, 81, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Donna Dean (Agee) Curry, 81, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Monday, December 16, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born on August 7, 1938 to the late Jasper and Leva (Cook) Agee.
 
Mrs. Curry was a former employee of Lee’s Famous Recipe and Parks-Belk Department Store, and was a homemaker. Donna had a vast collection of Barbie dolls, and loved costume jewelry and spending time at the beach with her family. Mrs. Curry had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a faithful member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.
 
She was the wife of Mr. Bennie “Foot” Curry, who preceded her in death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Curry, and a brother, Kenneth Agee.

DR. GARY LANE, 78, DANVILLE

 

Dr. Gary Thomas Lane, 78, died December 11, 2019 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born November 8, 1941 in Glasgow, KY, son of the late Glen Wilson and Trixie McCandless Lane.
 
Gary graduated from Greensburg High school, earned an Associate Degree at Lindsey Wilson College, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at Berea College, and earned both his Masters and PhD at Purdue University. He began his career as a Professor at Texas A&M University in the Animal Science Department and then came to the University of Kentucky to join the Animal Science Department there. He began work at Burkmann Feeds as an Animal Nutritionist in 1986 and retired in 2006.
 
Gary was a member of the American Dairy Science Association, the American Society of Animal Science, the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists, the Kentucky Dairy Development Council, and an Officer of the Lindsey Wilson College Alumni Board. He was an Elder, Trustee, and faithful member of Indian Hills Christian Church. An avid fisherman, gardener, golfer, and photographer; he shared his hobbies, his love of UK sports, and his strong faith with his family and many friends.
 
He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Charlotte Turner, and 2 brothers, Ronald Wilson Lane & Mark Brown Lane.

Nelda Sue Rowe, 89, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Norton Women and Children’s Hospital.  Born in Cumberland County, KY she was the daughter of the late Shores and Inus Rowe Lloyd and wife of the late Marshall Rowe.
 
Mrs. Rowe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also attended Kelleyville Community Church.  She was involved in many other activities in the local community, much of it related to various church groups over several years along with her late husband. 
 
Sue was a former active member of the Adair County Chamber of Commerce.  She published several tourist and healthcare related magazines and was the owner of the local Best Buy Clothes store. Sue and Marshall were one of the first operators of two local former restaurants - Circle R and Donnie’s.

Omer Colvin, 88, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Luke Colvin and Lou Mamie Benningfield Colvin, was born May 23, 1931 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 10:20 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Campbellsville. 
 
He professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Spurlington United Methodist Church. He was a lifelong farmer, a former magistrate of the second district and a former deputy sheriff. Omer also was a veteran of the Korean Conflict (1953-1955) having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
 
He united in marriage to Florine Sharp March 10, 1956 and she preceded him in death May 27, 2016. Omer was also preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister: Gilbert Colvin and Flossie Campbell.

She professed faith in Christ and attended Bible Baptist Tabernacle. Imogene was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a homemaker.
 
She united in marriage to Ronnel Lee Benningfield June 1, 1957 and he preceded her in death August 2, 2019.

Thomas A. Turner, 71, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at his home. He was born September 9, 1948 in Adair County to the late Edgar & Mabel Kemp Turner.

Thomas was a member of Columbia Seventh Day Adventist Church, a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era, and was the former owner of Sta-Clean Carpet Care and an income tax preparer.

CHARLES EDWARD HARVEY, 83, COLUMBIA

 

Charles Edward “Ed” Harvey, 83, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.  He was the son of the late Curtis and Sallie Nokes Harvey and husband of the late Norma Cahill Harvey. 
 
Ed was born in Burkesville, KY and moved to Columbia, KY when he was 10 years old.  He moved to Jeffersonville, IN at the age of 17 to start working at a Lumber Mill for the next 7 years.  He then worked for a steel foundry until he retired.  He moved back to Columbia in 1984 at which time he leased and tended several people’s tobacco crops.  He loved hunting, fishing, talking on the CB where his handle was “Workhorse” and liked to travel out west.  He attended Bethany Baptist Church and professed his faith in God.  He was a hard-working good husband, dad, pa and great grandpa.
 
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Joy Staser; three brothers Russell, Marion “Pop” and Benton Harvey and two sisters Ruby Bruce and Catherine Norris.

Jack Bolin Morgan, 86, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at T.J. Health Columbia. Born in Adair County, he was the son of the late Ples and Nancy Jane “Jenny” Grant Morgan.  
 
Mr. Morgan was a member of the Haven Mission Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Marine Corps and a music lover that played multiple instruments.  He was known by many as the “lawnmower man” and loved spending time with his family and friends.

BILLY JOE PERKINS, 56, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Billy Joe Perkins, 56, of Campbellsville, KY son of the late Virgle Perkins and Lucille Edwards Perkins, was born February 8, 1963 in Hardin County, KY.  He died Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Campbellsville.      

 

Billy Joe served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

 

He worked in construction and took great pride in building custom homes. He spent his life doing what he loved, living on the family farm surrounded by nature and the cattle and other animals he cared for.

 

Billy Joe was a loving father, brother and son and is survived by his daughter, Lydia Perkins; his sister, Sandy Faulkner of Louisville; one niece and three nephews: Isaiah Perkins of Campbellsville, Emily Faulkner of Denver, Alex Faulkner and wife, Sarah of Louisville and Jeremiah Perkins and wife, Leah of Lexington; two great-nieces and one great-nephew: Briley Perkins, Avah Perkins and Thor Perkins; his former wife and mother of his daughter, Cynthia Perkins of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.

 

Billy Joe was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Perkins.

Cathy was raised by the late Richard & Ada Lee Guffey of the Bryan community of Russell County. Besides both sets of parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Johnson. 
 
Cathy was the wife of Rev. Gene Conover, pastor of the Columbia Church of God, where they have served for 44 years.  She pioneered the Women’s Ministries, Girl’s Club and the Children’s Church program.

Peggy had professed faith in Christ and was a member of Miller’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom. Peggy Jo was a loving Mother and Grandmother and loved making quilts and crafts such as frayed knot dolls and stuffed animals for family and friends. She was also a talented artist who could draw and paint well. After she retired she loved traveling with Toby Tours.
 
She united in marriage to Johnny T. Price who preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Jimmy Johnson and Robert F. “Bob” Johnson.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 daughters and 1 son: Gail Underwood & husband Larry, Karen Cox & husband Wilbur and Steve Newton & wife Karen of Campbellsville, KY; 6 grandchildren: Billy Underwood & wife Mary Lee and Wes Dowell of Lexington, KY, Travis Dowell & wife Jennifer, Eric Newton & wife T.J. and Clarissa Phillips & husband Lloyd of Campbellsville, KY and Scott Newton of Greensburg, KY; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Helen Akridge of Campbellsville, KY and Shirley Rose of Lexington, KY; special friends Sue Settles, Burma Wheeler & Phyllis Cundiff of Campbellsville, KY; several nieces & nephews and many other relatives & friends.

Juanita Cox, 73, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born on February 26, 1946 to the late Benny L. & Lois (Gribbins) Garrett.
 
Juanita was a cherished mother and grandmother, and the devoted wife of Walter B. Cox, who preceded her in death in 2011. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the International Gospel Lighthouse.

Virginia Ann (Loy) Nix, 75, of Bridgeview, IL passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 3:41pmCT at her home. She was born on August 28, 1944 in Adair County, KY, a daughter of the late Gilliam & Liza Alice (Bragg) Loy. 
 
Virginia was a proud graduate of ACHS class of 1961 at the age of 16. She attended Draughons Junior Business College in Nashville, TN. Virginia was retired from Pepsi Co. in Bridgeview, IL. She was a native of Adair County, KY but lived in suburban Chicago at the time of her death. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son: Brian Scott Nix, on September 27, 1972; 2 brothers: Young Loy & Martin Russell Loy; and 1 sister: Ruth (Loy) Moore.

Wanda F. Hill, 91, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. She was born February 22, 1928 in Hyden, KY to the late Felix and Mollie Napier Farmer. 
 
Wanda formerly served in the position of President of Bank of Columbia and currently as Chairman of the Board of Bank of Columbia. She was also a member of Columbia-Union Presbyterian Church.
 
She was the widow of Richard Paull Hill.

Sam was a farmer.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sallie Dunbar (DOD-May 12, 1997) and Charlene Dowell Dunbar (DOD-Dec. 8, 2012); 2 brothers, Morris "Wooley" Dunbar and Keith Dunbar.
