Jimmy L. Matney, 69, of Russell Springs, KY passed from this life on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024 at his home, with his family at his side. He was born in Adair County, on June 11, 1955, one of four sons born to the union of the late Hollan and Lyda Corbin Matney.
He was a faithful member of the Church at the Springs. Jimmy began his career at Bernard Funeral Home in 1992, became a Kentucky licensed Funeral Director on January 9, 1997, and later achieved co-ownership of the funeral home. Throughout his years of selfless service, Jimmy served a countless number of families during their time of loss. To know him was to love him. Jimmy was a true gentleman; he was a kind and selfless person who would go above and beyond for his family and friends, never seeking recognition or praise for himself.
Jimmy was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan, and enjoyed being outside, mowing his yard, gardening, and fishing. Most of all, Jimmy took the role of being the ultimate provider, husband, dad, and pa for his family the sole mission in his life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
