Gary was a proud U.S. veteran, having served in the Army during the Vietnam War. It was there that he was wounded and later became the recipient of the Purple Heart. During his life, Gary worked alongside his father on the farm, cutting silage and milking cattle. He furthered his high school education by earning degrees from Lindsey Wilson College, Western Kentucky University, and Campbellsville College. Gary also worked as a substitute teacher and was also well known behind the service counter at Lawless and Smith True Value Hardware. His greatest enjoyment came from coaching several different baseball and softball teams over the years, as well as being an umpire for numerous games.  He was still known as “Coach Mac” by many people in the county. Gary was a lover of good, old-fashioned quartet gospel music and was a great encourager to the singers and musicians. He also enjoyed his early morning golf games with his golfing buddies. Two proud moments in Gary’s life were being saved March 20, 1975 and then baptized and becoming a member of Mt. Jack Glenn, 69, Russell Springs, KY

Jack Glenn, 69, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center, with his devoted wife, Vickie, by his side. He was born on November 12, 1955 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Earl and Zona Glenn.

Jack was a 1976 graduate of Fairfield High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1979, continuing in the Reserves until 1982. During his service as a Combat Engineer, he earned the Good Conduct Medal and the Rifle Marksman Badge, reflecting his dedication and honorable character.

On November 12, 1982, Jack married the love of his life, Vickie Lockaby Glenn. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, laughter, and unwavering love for their family. In 1994, they moved to Russell Springs, Kentucky, where they continued to raise their family and build lasting friendships. Jack later retired from Branscum Construction Company.

A man of quiet strength and deep faith, Jack was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Community Church and actively involved in Celebrate Recovery. His strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom were rooted deeply in his relationship with God.

He was a loving husband, proud father, and deeply cherished papa. Jack's grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to be their biggest fan—cheering them on in both life and sports. He found joy in the simple things: time on the lake with loved ones, the sound of laughter around him, and the satisfaction of a good day's work.

Jack also had a deep love for building and woodworking. You could always find him out in his shop, working on something—often a project for someone he loved. Whether fixing, building, or just tinkering, you never quite knew what he would be up to. His creations were more than just projects - they were expressions of love.
