Raymond Lee Poff, 66, of Middleburg, KY died Saturday, June 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 15, 1954 in Casey County, KY a son of the late Elza “Andy” & Mildred Mae Clements Poff. 
 
Raymond was an avid welder and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed square dancing, wrestling and western movies. Whether it was fishing, rabbit hunting, mowing his yard, or watching hummingbirds, Raymond loved being outdoors. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren: Gracie Luttrell, Jayden Poff, and Lilly Poff.

Danny Reid Gaskins, 64, of Jamestown, KY died Monday, June 29, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. He was born August 17, 1955 in Russell County to the late Ted & Opal Morrow Gaskins.

James Wayne Pelly, 67, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 4:10 A.M. at Hillcreek Rehab & Care in Louisville. He was born September 4, 1952 in Adair County, KY
 
James was a member of Columbia Christian Church, retired from Ingersoll Rand, served in the National Guard, and loved to fish and sing.
 
He was preceded by his father, James Clyde Pelly and a son, James Dewayne “Garfield” Pelly.

Betty Young, 77, of Columbia, KY died Friday, June 26, 2020 at 8:11 P.M. at her home. She was born October 9, 1942 in Norwood, Ohio to the late Alvin and Delena Shepherd Lynn, but was raised in Russell County.
 
Betty was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, a former beautician and a homemaker.

Kay Burton Thomas, 74, of Columbia, KY died Friday, June 26, 2020 at Summit Manor Nursing & Rehab in Columbia. Born in Adair County, KY she was the daughter of the late James Eli and Cecil McQueary Burton and wife of the late Ray Thomas.
 
She was a member of the Pollards Chapel United Methodist Church and was employed at Westlake Regional Hospital and Summit Manor Nursing Home for many years. 
 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 infant twins, Robert James & Paul Allen Thomas and by 5 siblings: Helen Curry, Kelly Burton, Tricia Holt, Diane Marple and Jean Gray.

Gail Ann Murphy, 56, of Columbia, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at T. J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. She was born August 12, 1963, in Adair County, KY a daughter of the late David Eugene “Big Boy” Burris and Cora Lillian McQueary Shepherd.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents: Jess & Lucille Richards and a sister, Stella Grider.

RICHARD LEE WALKER, 77, COLUMBIA

 

Richard Lee Walker, 77, of Columbia, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Louisville, KY.  He was surrounded by his wife and children at the time of his death.
 
Richard Lee and his high school sweetheart Marsha were married in August of 1963.  He attended Lindsey Wilson College before earning a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University in 1966. While he and Marsha attended Western, he sold Electrolux vacuum cleaners and farmed on weekends to support his family, which by late 1966 included two children. 
 
After college Richard would continue dairy farming while working as a field representative for Kyana Milk Producers. In 1973, he was named Outstanding Young Dairyman by Dairyman, Inc.   He later served on DI’s Board of Directors. Governors Wendell Ford and Julian Carroll both appointed Richard to the Governor’s Agriculture Council.
 
Richard earned his real estate sales associate license in 1973. That step would lead him to a 47-year career in real estate sales, brokerage and development.  He was owner and principal broker of Walker Realty until his death. 
 
His love of Adair County and a desire to make it the best possible place to live spurred Richard to serve through public office. He was elected to the office of County Judge Executive in 1985 and was re-elected in 1989. The Adult Education GED program developed during his first term enrolled over 300 students in its first year. Richard also served as chairman of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and the Lake Cumberland Health Department during his time in office.
 
Richard served two terms on the Board of Trustees of Lindsey Wilson College. He saw Lindsey Wilson as a tremendous asset to the area and was an enthusiastic supporter of the school and its mission. In 2004, Richard was presented the Distinguished Service Award by the Lindsey Wilson College National Alumni Association.  
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Richard, Jr. and Mary Evelyn Barnes Walker.

Ruby Starnes, 93, of Russell Springs, KY died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. She was born April 19, 1927 in Russell County.

 

She was a member of Solid Rock Full Gospel Church.

Glyn Dale England, 71, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. Born in Adair County, KY he was the son of the late Avery and Minnie Catherine Sparks England. 

 

Glyn was retired from the Adair County School System, having worked at Sparksville School and ACES for over 40 years.  He was an avid rabbit hunter and also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey.

Mr. Reliford formerly attended the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing.

Billy R. Humphress, 71, of Columbia, KY died Monday, June 22, 2020 at his home. He was born November 16, 1948 in Adair County, KY to the late Elza and Lonetta Thomas Humphress.
 
Billy was a member of Kellyville Community Church and a former truck driver.  He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, sitting outside and watching the animals, and above all loved his family.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Wallace, Joe & Wayne Humphress.

Janice Grace Andrew, 73, of Russell Springs, KY died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Russell County Hospital. She was born November 10, 1946 in Russell County to the late Marvin & Bertha Opal Bledsoe Johnson.
 
Janice was a bookkeeper and a member of Rockhouse Christian Church.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ravin Andrew.

Wendell Eugene “Jody” Reliford, 75, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his residence. Born in Adair County, KY he was the son of the late Thurman and Margie Downey Reliford and husband of the late Edra Hamlett Reliford.  

 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Reliford.

 

Mr. Reliford formerly attended the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing.

Randall David Mayo, 68, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, June 18, 2020 at his residence. Born in Louisiana, he was the son of the late David Crockett and Iris Esther Wood Mayo.  
 
Mr. Mayo was a retired Mechanical Engineer for IBM/Lexmark and loved fishing and being outdoors.

Lamar Brockman, 66, of Knifley, KY died Friday, June 19, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Campbellsville. He was born September 15, 1953 in Taylor County, KY.
 
Lamar enjoyed farming.  
 
He was preceded in death by his father, W.A. Brockman in 2015.

Margie Burris Coffey, 89, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at her home. She was born February 28, 1931 in Adair County, KY to the late Walter and Lizzie Scott Burris.
 
She retired from the Adair County School System, teaching for many years. Margie was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, the Adair County Retired Teachers Association, Adair County Genealogical Society and enjoyed doing research at the Adair County Public Library.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Coffey.

Geneva Ann Page, 77, of Campbellsville, KY (formerly of Columbia, KY) died Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at The Grandview in Campbellsville. She was born November 19, 1942, in Adair County, KY to the late Ernest and Mildred Moore Sneed.
 
Geneva was employed as a cashier with Gate Petroleum in Columbia for 17 years.

GEORGIA JUDD, 64, COLUMBIA

 
Georgia Judd, 64, of Columbia, KY returned to her heavenly home on Monday, June 15, 2020 after a fearless battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was born to the late Preston and Hazel Burton Bryant on September 19, 1955 in Adair County.  
 
Georgia was blessed with a large and loving family. She grew up surrounded by four sisters that she loved dearly and was close with throughout her life. She was a beautician and cosmetology instructor for years. One of her greatest accomplishments in her life is her two sons along with her three grandchildren. Georgia was immersed in the Christian community and found great joy in all aspects of her faith and was passionate about helping others along their walk with Christ. She was heavily involved with the Emmaus Walks. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Lord and Savior.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Netta Robertson.

Mrs. Pinto was a member of Hadley Community Church and loved flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends.

Aaron Tom Collins, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the  V.A. Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born in Jamestown, KY on December 2, 1934, a son of the late Ruby (Mann) and Forrest B. Collins.
 
He was a member of Coffeys Grove Seperate Baptist Church in Jamestown, KY.  He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean War.

Helen Faye Burton, 68, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her residence. Born in Adair County, she was the daughter of the late Claudy & Ernestene Janes Kemp.   
 
Mrs. Burton attended the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church and had worked at Oshkosh and was a homemaker. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
 
She married her husband Wendell Burton on June 26, 1970.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Baylee Fayth Hagedorn and a brother, Willie Kemp.

Iva Joyce Keltner, 85, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home.  Born in Adair County, KY she was the daughter of the late Joe Grissom and Marie Tuell Montgomery and wife of the late George Winfrey Keltner.

 

Mrs. Keltner was a member of the Milltown United Methodist Church for over 60 years and loved flower gardening and animals.

She was also preceded in death by her companion, William Sexton.

Mr. Burton was a member of the Purdy Separate Baptist Church and a Separate Baptist minister in the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
