Patricia Gail Routt McAninch, 86, of Nicholasville, KY (formally of Jamestown, KY) passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026. She was born on December 18, 1939 in Sonora, KY, a daughter of the late Dr. Ruel T. Routt and Madeline Bright Routt. 
 
Patricia attended Georgetown College. She was a foster parent to many children and loved all animals. She was the former owner and operator of Kiddie Kapital Daycare in Frankfort. In the1960’s, she helped and assisted the State of Kentucky writing regulations and statues regarding daycares.

Roberta Rice Crouch, 85, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. She was born October 8, 1940 in Adair County to the late E.C. and Pernie Cox Rice. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Crouch; one son, Allen Scott “Shag” Crouch; one daughter, Diana Lynn Perkins; two brothers: Robert Lee Rice and Joe Rice; and two sisters: Josephine Hubbard and Margaret Dunn.

 

She was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church, worked at Osh Kosh B’Gosh for several years and worked in the kitchen at Summit Manor Nursing Home until retirement.

Terry Erwin Pease, 89, was born on September 22, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan and passed away peacefully at his residence in Columbia, KY on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

 

Terry’s love for golf was well known among his friends and family, and he took every opportunity to enjoy the game, appreciating both its challenges and its moments of camaraderie. Above all, Terry found true happiness in spending time with those he loved. Whether sharing laughter, wisdom, or simply a comforting presence, he brought warmth and generosity wherever he went. His kindness, sense of humor, and steadfast character left a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to have known him.

 

Terry’s long and fulfilling life was marked by deep bonds with family and friends and a profound joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Their memories remain alive within the hearts of those who knew and loved Terry.

Bobby Dean Loy, 91, Columbia, KY

 

Bobby Dean Loy, 91, of Columbia, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Bluegrass Way Senior Living in Campbellsville, KY. He was born on February 6, 1935 in Fairplay, KY, a son of the late Broadus and Lida McClister Loy.

 

Bobby lived a long and fulfilling life rooted deeply in Adair County’s community and values. He was cherished for his steadfast work ethic, generosity, and love for his family and friends. Bobby dedicated four decades of his life as a barber at the Town Barber Shop from 1960 until 2000, providing not just professional service, but also a friendly face and a listening ear to generations of customers and friends. Beyond his career as a barber, he served his community as Adair County Road Supervisor and as a school bus driver for Adair County Schools, roles that reflected his commitment to the safety and well-being of his neighbors.

 

A proud veteran, Bobby served in the U.S. Army, exemplifying the values of duty and honor that shaped his entire life.

 

His devotion extended beyond his work and military service to active involvement in local organizations. He was a 50-plus year member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #96, where he developed lifelong friendships and made meaningful contributions. He also served as a past member and president of the Mark Twain Shrine Club, demonstrating a spirit of leadership and fellowship in every aspect of his life.

 

Bobby’s passions were many. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to his yard. Most importantly, he cherished any opportunity to spend time with his beloved family and friends. His warmth and good humor brightened countless gatherings, and his legacy of kindness and generosity endures in all who knew him.

David Lee Johnson, 72, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, June 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born August 30, 1953 in Taylor County, KY to the late Charles Henry Johnson and Lillian Frances Bridgewater Johnson. 

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valenia Taylor Johnson and a step-daughter, Telicia Taylor.

 

David made a profession in Christ at an early age at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a member of New Grace Fellowship. To many he was known as “Pie” or “Cat Daddy” because of his love for Cadillacs and he always made sure to play his “Numbers”.

Doris Jean Wilson, 80, formerly of Louisville, KY passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at her residence in Russell Springs. She was born July 7, 1945 in Jefferson County, KY, a daughter of the late Joseph “Buddy” and Elsie Mattingly Clemens. 

 

After moving to Russell County, Doris lived out her remaining years in her new home, spending time with her beloved daughter and her dogs.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Dee Campbell Grant, and a brother, Tommy Grant.
 
Mr. Grant was a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church and attended New Hope Separate Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to dirt track races, riding four-wheelers and Harley Davidson motorcycles, hunting, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool and spending time his family and friends.

David G. Morgan, 71, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Russell County Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1955 in Somerset, KY, a son of the late Bartie and Lois Christine Grider Morgan.


David was a familiar face to many as a former produce manager at Houchens Market where he worked for 15 years. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing bass guitar and piano and was once part of the gospel group “Gideon’s Lamps”. David loved to spend time outdoors, enjoyed golfing and tending to his garden, and was an avid bowler in his younger days. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church.

Dr. George Howard Webb, 95, of Columbia, KY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Born on May 27, 1931, Dr. Webb’s long and impactful life was characterized by devoted service to his family, his profession, his faith, and his community.

 

A proud veteran, Dr. Webb honorably served with the U.S. Navy, contributing both his skills and his sense of duty to his country. After his military service, he embarked on a lifelong career as a dentist at his family practice, Dr. George Webb Dentistry. He was known for his gentle manner and unwavering commitment to excellent patient care, earning the trust and appreciation of generations of families in Columbia and the surrounding area.

 

Dr. Webb’s interests reached beyond his professional life. He found great satisfaction in farming, tending to the land with the same dedication he brought to all his endeavors. His connection to agriculture reflected his deep respect for hard work and showed in his huge vegetable garden that he produced yearly.

 

He was also an active member of Columbia Christian Church, where his faith guided his actions and gave him strength. As a respected member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #96, Dr. Webb exemplified the values of integrity, service, and brotherhood that were central to his life.

 

Family, faith, and community were at the core of Dr. Webb’s being. His wisdom, compassion, and generosity have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Mary Ruth Scott Norris, 80, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Green River Trails in Greensburg, KY. She was born May 17, 1946 in the Bliss Community of Adair County to the late Noah “Jack” and Beatrice Rogers Scott. 

 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Norris in 2007 and by two brothers: Kenneth Scott and J.W. Scott.

 

Mary Ruth was of the Nazarene Church faith, a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Library Board both in Bridgeport, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Jones; her child, Jerri Lynn Jones; and five siblings: Daryl Lynn Cowan, Ricky Cowan, Faye Stotts, Michael Cowan, and Dale Cowan.
