Loreta Ballou Adams, 80, of Columbia, KY died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.  Born in Columbia, KY she was the daughter of the late Estel Eugene and Mary Hunter Ballou and wife of the late Jessie Adams and Harold Dean Willis.
 
Mrs. Adams was a member of the 3trees Church and loved cooking for her family and friends.
 
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brad Conover.

RICHARD LUCAS, 88, COLUMBIA, KY


Richard Lucas, 88, of Columbia, KY son of the late Robert and Ida Bee Lucas, was born in Frenchman Bayou, Arkansas on June 22, 1932 and departed this life on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 at his home. 

 

Richard was an engineer draftsman for the Civil Engineer Firm as a government contractor for 26 years.  He enjoyed moving to Kentucky after living in Washington, D.C. for most of his life. He loved having land in Columbia and being surrounded by the beautiful nature Kentucky has to offer people.

 

Richard united in marriage to Marilyn Wymer on February 14, 1960 who preceded him in death on July 4, 2007.

 

SURVIVORS:

3 sons: Richard H. Lucas & wife Diana of Huntsville, Alabama; Daryl J. Lucas & wife Ruthie of Willington, Connecticut; and Robin Lucas of Columbia, KY    

1 sister: Caroline Senter

Richard was also preceded in death by one sister, Rosaline Brown.

BARBARA CAMPBELL, 76, COLUMBIA, KY


Barbara Campbell, 76, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton. She was born September 14, 1944 in Adair County, KY to the late Paul and Gladys Crawhorn Mann.

 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Campbell on June 14, 1992 and her brother, Paul Allen Mann.

 

Barbara was a member of Columbia Church of God, where she taught Sunday School for years, worked at Osh Kosh B’ Gosh and Carhartt.

BENJAMIN DENNIS "BENNIE" WARREN, 75, COLUMBIA , KY


Benjamin Dennis “Bennie” Warren, 75, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his residence. Born in Knifley, KY he was the son of the late Virgil and Thelma Sinclair Warren.

 

Mr. Warren was a member of the Robinson Chapel Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Timmy Warren and two brothers Eventis and Troy Warren.

Victoria Elizabeth “Bess” Harvey, 90, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 26, 2020 in Burkesville, KY. Born in Adair County, KY she was the daughter of the late Olie and Alpha Brummett Sexton and wife of the late Charles Preston Reece and Noel Harvey.
 
Mrs. Harvey was a member of the Harrods Fork Baptist Church and attended the Breeding United Methodist Church and she loved to cook, work her vegetable & flower gardens.
 
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 sons: Timothy Lewis Reece and Charles Preston “Charlie” Reece Jr.; a grandson, Chuck Reece II; 6 siblings: James Austin Sexton, Odell B. Sexton, Davis Sexton, Lanie Sexton Munday, L.V Janes & Mayrene Gibson.

Robert Allen Smith, 66, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born September 12, 1954 in Adair County to the late Richard & Frances Dial Smith. 
 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robin Sneed Smith in January 2018.  
 

Robert attended 3Trees Church and formerly worked at Osh Kosh & McCammish Manufacturing in Columbia, Fleetwood in Campbellsville and most recently at the Adair County Regional Jail.

JUDY LEE BLAKEY BALDOCK, 70, RUSSELL COUNTY, KY

 
Judy Lee Blakey Baldock, 70, was born on April 7, 1950 and departed this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Her brother, Mark Anthony Blakey, 51, was born on June 1, 1969 and departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Judy and Mark were born to Bro. Vernon Ray and Myrtle Irene Blakey who preceded them in death.
 
Mark and Judy were also preceded in death by their siblings: Opal Ray, Wayne Allen, Mara D., Danny Ray, and Peggy Sue.
 
Mark and Judy attended many churches over the years but the last several years they were a part of the Old Liberty Community Church. They have served the Lord for many years with their music and will be sadly missed by their many loved ones and friends.
 
Judy is survived by her husband, Lynn “Red” Baldock whom she married on June 28, 1974.
 
Due to COVID restrictions, funeral services will be held privately for family only on Friday, November 27, 2020. Burial will take place in the Blakey Cemetery. 
 
Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.

MARK BLAKEY, 51, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY

 
Mark Anthony Blakey, 51, was born on June 1, 1969 and departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. His sister, Judy Lee Blakey Baldock, 70, was born on April 7, 1950 and departed this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Judy and Mark were born to Bro. Vernon Ray and Myrtle Irene Blakey who preceded them in death.
 
Mark and Judy were also preceded in death by their siblings: Opal Ray, Wayne Allen, Mara D., Danny Ray, and Peggy Sue.

INEZ STOTTS, 93, ADAIR COUNTY, KY

 
Inez Stotts, 93, of the Sparksville community of Adair County, KY died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at her home. She was born February 4, 1927, a daughter of the late William Riley Janes and Ora Loy Janes Cape.
 
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ores Elmer Stotts; 2 sons, Oswell and Bernard Stotts and the following siblings: Ores Bennett, Cortez Janes, Delbert Janes, Burley Janes, Jean Estes, Calma Weichert, Freda Janes, Olen Janes, Alfred Janes, Essie Rowe, Icy Rowe, Onie Sparks, Myrtle Coomer and Regina French.
 
Inez was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and formerly worked at Fruit of the Loom. She was also a homemaker.

RICHARD JAMES, 62, WILMINGTON, OHIO

 
Richard L. James, 62, of Wilmington, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 22, 2020 in Russell County, KY. He was born December 2, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio, a son of Raymond James of Russell Springs, KY and the late Marjorie Collins James. 
 
Richard was a 1976 graduate of Patterson Co-Op High School in Dayton. He served 18 years in the U.S. Navy including tours during Grenada and Beirut Lebanon. After his military career, he did industrial maintenance at Crysteco, Sumco, and Mane Inc. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post 49, the Post 49 Honor Guard, 40/8, and was the assistant director of the Riders of the American Legion. He had previously served as the County Commander of the American Legion. Richard was currently serving as the commander of VFW Post 6710 and as a Clinton County Veteran’s Commissioner. He was a member of the VFW Riders District 4 and was instrumental in organizing the two Clinton County Honor Flights that took place. He also participated in Heather’s Hope.
 
In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Heather James; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William & Marion Luecking; and a nephew, Ryan Gerhard.

James Walker “J.W.” Burton, II, 78, formerly of Columbia, KY died Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.  He was born December 20, 1941 in Adair County to the late James Walker and Bonnie Tucker Burton.  
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Della Frances Hamon Burton in 2012 and two brothers: Freddie and Jerry Burton.  
 
J.W. retired from the Automotive Industry and enjoyed playing golf.

WILLIAM "BILLY" YARBERRY, JR., 77, RINCON, GEORGIA (ADAIR CO. NATIVE)

 
William “Billy” Yarberry Jr., 77, of Rincon, GA (formerly of Columbia, KY) died Monday, November 23, 2020 in Columbia. Born in Adair County, he was the son of the late William Yarberry, Sr. and Lera Alice Stotts Yarberry.
 
Mr. Yarberry was an Engineer for Bethlehem Steel and enjoyed hunting and reading history books. He was a member of Bearwallow United Methodist Church.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-sister, Pearl Cheatham and a step-brother, Louis Murrell Sharp.

Robert William Czerwinski, 59, of Jamestown, KY passed away Sunday, November 22nd, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Ill on December 27, 1960 a son of the late Mary Lou (Coffey) and Walter A. Czerwinski.
 
Mr. Czerwinski served in the U.S. Marines. He was a Truck Driver
 
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Czerwinski.

MARY LOUISE COFFEY FRANKLIN, 90, BOWLING GREEN, KY (ADAIR CO. NATIVE)

 

Mary Louise (Logsdon) Coffey Franklin, 90, formerly a resident of Adair County, KY passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Hopkins Nursing Home in Bowling Green, KY.  Louise was born in Adair County on April 21, 1930, a daughter of the late Bert & Lou Anna Harmon Logsdon.

 

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Coffey and her second husband, Chester Franklin. 

 

Louise was a member of Plum Point Baptist Church in Adair County. Having lived on a farm most of her life, Louise was accustomed to hard work but she also enjoyed the opportunities that living in that environment afforded her. Some of her favorites were gardening, raising flowers, fishing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandkids. She loved people and, in her later years, she enjoyed babysitting for neighbors and friends and often sat with older people who couldn’t stay alone during the day. Louise was a very competitive person.  It would have been difficult to find a better rook or checker player. In summary, she loved her family and she loved life.

KENNY RAY FOLEY, 70, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY

 
Kenny Ray Foley, 70, of Foley Road in Russell Springs, KY passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on October 30, 1950 in the Webbs Crossroads Community of Russell County, KY, he was the son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth Wilson Foley. 
 
Kenny Ray was a SP4 US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a hard worker. He was a small engine mechanic and owner of Foley’s Small Engine. Kenny Ray was also a cattle hauler and owner of K&S Trucking.

Lela Neff, 88, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at Russell County Hospital. Born on July 2, 1932 in New Concord, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Earl and Pauline Hickle Shepherd. 
 
Lela was a homemaker and a former beautician. She attended Main Street Baptist Church in China Grove, North Carolina. Lela was a loving mother and grandmother.

Richard “Dick” Morris, 86, of Columbia, KY died Monday, November 23, 2020 at his residence. Born in Cane Valley, KY he was the son of the late Willie Joe and Oreta Keltner Morris and husband of the late Lorene May Chapman Morris.
 
Mr. Morris was a member of the Coyle Cumberland Presbyterian Church and veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a Plumbing Superintendent for Addie S. French, Green Mechanical and Apollo Engineering. He was also a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge #96 and VFW Post #6097.
 
In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by a niece Jane Phelps.

Deanna Gosser Foley, 81, of Russell Springs, KY passed from this life on Saturday evening, November 21, 2020 at Fair Oaks Health and Rehab. Born on October 23, 1939 in Russell County, KY she was a daughter of the late Elbert Bea and Grace Anna Tarter Gosser.
 

Deanna was a former jewelry manager for K-Mart and a member of Pinetop Church of Christ. She was also the former owner of D’s Gold and Gifts and an employee of Russell Sportswear. Deanna loved spending time gardening, sewing, and crocheting.

Melody Lynne Hines Gibson, 70, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Russell County Hospital. She was born November 30, 1949 in Hobart, Indiana the daughter of the late Aubrey James Hines and the late Virginia David Groomer. 
 
Melody was a homemaker, a member of Jamestown Christian Church, and a former cafeteria worker for Wheeler High School in Valparaiso, Indiana. Melody loved playing cards, board games, and entertaining her family and friends. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, traveling, and boating on the lake.
 
In addition to her parents, Melody was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Mike Hines and Doug Hines.

Jeffrey was a PIC Cell Operator for CIRCOR Pump North America, LLC. He was passionate about film, literature, and music. He was a selfless person and a great father to his girls.

Robert Linzy Bernard, 88, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset, KY. Born June 30, 1932 in Russell Co., KY, he was a son of the late Jesse A. and Crella Jane Wilson Bernard.
 
Mr. Bernard was a 30 year retired United States Air Force veteran, having attained the highest enlisted level of leadership in the Air Force, Chief Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Bernard Church of God. Mr. Bernard formerly attended the Bible Baptist Church in Florida. He was an avid camper and fisherman.
 
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Williams Bernard on May 21, 2000; his second wife, Freida Gosser Bernard on November 9, 2020; and a daughter, Pam Glessing.

Louis was retired from the United States Navy after 17½ years of service. During this time, he served during the Vietnam War.  Louis enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Skylor Neal Turner, 30, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Columbia. Born in Hamilton, Ohio he was the son of the late Linda Burton Turner and Patrick Turner of Columbia who survives.
 
Skylor formerly attended the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed football, driving a tractor-trailer over the road seeing the country, and spending time with his family especially his son Braxton.

RONNIE ELVIS HARRIS, 58, COLUMBIA, KY

 

Ronnie Elvis Harris, 58, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at T.J. Health Columbia. Born in Columbus, OH he was the son of the late Hayward Harris and Mary Halcomb Harris of Columbia who survives. 

 

Mr. Harris was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

 

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by 3 siblings: Loretta Patterson, Carlos Harris and Kermit Harris.

AUSTYN TYLAR DEEL, 22, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY

 

Austyn Tylar Deel, 22, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Russell County, KY as the result of a motorcycle accident. Born July 16, 1998 in Somerset, KY, he was a son of Shelly Moore Deel. 

 

Austyn worked at Tarter Gates in Casey County, KY in the loading department. He was a member of the Coffey’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Austyn was a 2017 Russell County High School graduate. He was a loving husband and father and he enjoyed the demolition derby. 

 

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Kevin Glover and sister, Zoie Deel.

James Howard Sexton, 87, of the Leatherwood community of Adair County, KY died Friday, November 13, 2020 at Cumberland Valley Manor in Burkesville. He was born May 2, 1933 in Adair County to the late Jim Riley and Pearl Roach Sexton.  

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Riley & Ural “Shorty” Sexton and 5 sisters: Myrtle Brummett, Geneva Wilson, Alvina Roach, Josie Roach & Dorothy Mae Sexton.

 

James Howard served on the Adair County School Board, serving as Chairman, for many years and was a member of 3Trees Church.

Anna Rose Grant Wells, 72, formerly of Adair County, KY died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was born March 17, 1948 in Adair County, KY daughter of the late Oscar and Pauline Cape Grant.

 

Anna was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wells.  

 

Anna Rose served in the U.S. Army.

Glenn A. Coffey, 81, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. Born on January 16, 1939 in Russell County, KY he was a son of the late Frank and Mora Morgan Coffey.  
 
Glenn was a former dairy farmer and a member of the Clearfork Baptist Church. He loved fishing and woodworking. 
 
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by three brothers; Adrian Coffey, Carlos Coffey, and Wendell Coffey; and three sisters, Zola Stroud, Justine McVay, and Elsie Lancaster.

Isaiah was a junior at Russell County High School. He was a member of the Calvary Temple Church in Columbia. Isaiah enjoyed working on construction projects. He was outgoing and he loved his family. Isaiah loved to sing, play the piano, and play guitar.

He was a truck driver, a Veteran of the US Army, member of Temple Hill Church and loved playing and singing bluegrass music. 
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mondie, 4 sisters and 3 brothers, a son, Ozie Mondie and a granddaughter, Sharon Mondie.

James was a US Army Veteran, a former factory worker, school bus driver, mechanic and farmer.

Freida was a former factory worker at Neilson Printing and a member of Bernard Ridge Church of God.
 
In addition to her parents, Frieda was preceded in death by her first husband, Lowell Roger Gosser who passed away on September 27, 2008; and 3 brothers: Doc Thomas, Dale Thomas, and Callis Thomas.

JIM EDWARD HADLEY, 61, COLUMBIA, KY

 
Jim Edward Hadley, 61, of Columbia, KY died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born on July 12, 1959 to the late James and Dallie Hadley (Coffey) in Pulaski County, KY.
 
Jim was a dedicated husband, father, friend, entrepreneur, realtor, master griller, basketball enthusiast and world traveler. He served as Security Police in the Air Force prior to his 30 year long career in the houseboat industry. Jim was most recently enjoying working in real estate after earning his realtor license last November. Jim treasured spending time with his family. Whether he was watching sports or working with Hunter on a vehicle, spending time doing home and auto repairs with Jacob and Trenton, or spending time catching up with his daughters and sister, he was happiest with his loved ones, especially his wife.
 
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wayne Hadley.

Elizabeth “Betty” Glahn, 73, of Jamestown, KY, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Russell County Hospital. Born on July 3, 1947 in Wallkill, New York she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Marr Carr. 
 
Betty was a mother, homemaker, and a registered nurse. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Betty also enjoyed flowers, gardening, and volunteering at the Holy Spirit Catholic Thrift Store. 
 
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Maryellen Glahn; and a sister, Teresa Domenech.

Donald G. Smith, 82, of Jamestown, KY passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. He was born June 11, 1938 in Russell Springs, KY, a son of the late Adron & Dortha McQueary Smith.

 

Don was a member of Mt. Hope Separate Baptist Church and the owner of Lakeway Motor Sales in Russell Springs for 40 years. He was a man of great faith and loved working for the Lord and always said the best is yet to come. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Betty Jean Miller, 87, of Rickman, Tennessee (formerly of Columbia), died October 29, 2020 at Crossville Regional Hospital in Crossville, Tennessee. She was born December 17, 1932 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late Edgar and Lois Lolita Hall Rutherford.  

 

She was Financial Records Manager for Highland Hospital and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Levona I. Wilson, 89, of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Heritage House in Shelbyville. She was born April 3, 1931 in Russell County, KY the daughter of Lester Stephens and Edith (George) Stephens. 
 
Mrs. Wilson spent most of her life in the Shelbyville area after moving from Russell County. She graduated from Russell County High School and was a member of Square Oak Baptist Church in Ono, KY. She also attended Victory Fellowship Church of God in Shelbyville.  Mrs. Wilson had been a factory worker at KCL Corp., retiring after 30 years of service.
 
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carside Wilson on Oct. 12, 1988 and by a sister, Romona Bernard.

DONALD WAYNE KEITH, 70, COLUMBIA, KY

 
Donald Wayne Keith, 70, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 5:13 P.M. at his home. He was born February 18, 1950 in Adair County, KY to the late James William Francis Keith and Frances Estes Keith.  
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Patricia Keith.
 
Donald was a Member, Deacon and Treasurer of Russell Heights Baptist Church, owner of Donald Keith Trucking, loved fishing with the grandkids and always had a big garden.

LOVELL WOOLDRIDGE, 96, JAMESTOWN, KY

 
Lovell Wooldridge, 96, of Jamestown, KY passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Jamestown, KY on September 13, 1924 a son of the late Verna (Loy) and Lilburn Wooldridge.
 
Mr. Wooldridge was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Army in WWII.
 
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Mann Wooldridge; 4 brothers: Loy, Eulis, Murrell and Shelby Wooldridge; 2 sisters: Laverne Coe and JoAnn Morgan; and 2 sons-in-laws: Jim Coleman and Randall Hamilton.

Visitation: After 9:30amCT on Monday at the church
 
Interment: Ridgecrest Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Russell County Honor Squad
 
The family requests memorial donations be made to Bernard Ridge Church of God or to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, and these can be made at the church.

JIMMIE K. DUNBAR, 80, RUSSELL SPRINGS, KY

 
Jimmie K. Dunbar, 80, of Russell Springs, KY died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. He was born April 26, 1940 in Russell County to the late Lorel & Zilpha Wisdom Dunbar. 
 
Jimmie was a farmer and a former member of the National Guard.

2 children: Keith Dunbar, Russell Springs, KY; Jackie Kendell Dunbar (Ellen), Atlanta, GA

The family will be doing a Private Burial.
