Gladys Blankenship, 86, formerly of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 2:22 P.M. at the home of her son in Leitchfield, KY. She was born April 22, 1932, in Adair County, KY to the late Ray and Myrtie Karnes Curry.  
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Condy Blankenship, in 1993, one son, Ricky Blankenship, in 2017, and two sisters, June Preston Curry and Carolyn Ann Curry.  
 
She was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and a homemaker.

LINDA DAVIDSON GRAVES, 75, BURKESVILLE

 
Linda Davidson Graves, 75, of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. She was born in Waterview, KY on Tuesday, January 19, 1943, the daughter of Millard and Maggie Froedge Davidson. 
 
She was a member of Grider United Methodist Church, Marrowbone United Methodist Church and was a seamstress. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Howard “Pete” Graves whom she wed on Saturday, August 1, 1959, her son, Kevin Gale “Spivy” Graves and her father-in-law, Limb and mother-in-law, Delcie “Mama” Graves.

Susan Marie Wethington, 67, of Campbellsville, KY died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville. Susan was Born on November 16, 1950 in Barberton Ohio the daughter of the late Jose’ and Mary Flaker Torrez.    
 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters-in-law: Martha Greer, Pat Propes, Francis Cox and Mary Clements, and 4 brothers-in-law: Charles Wethington, Gordon Wethington, James Wethington and Jerry Wethington
 
She was married to William Devello “Dean” Wethington, and worked in the restaurant business.  She enjoyed music, soap operas and westerns, and also liked to travel.  She was of the Baptist faith.
 
Besides her husband, she is survived by:
2 sons: James Allen Fox & Jeffrey Lynn Wethington, both of Campbellsville, KY
2 brothers: Joseph Torrez of Akron, OH; Ricky Torrez of Canton, OH

FAYE GADDIS, 88, GEORGIA (FORMERLY OF COLUMBIA)

 
Faye Gaddis, 88, of Berkeley Lake, GA passed away May 29, 2018. 
 
Faye was a long-time member and organist at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Columbia, KY before moving to Berkeley Lake in 2004. She and her husband, Harold, owned and operated Harold's Steaks for many years. Faye loved to travel and visited London, Ireland, the Pacific Northwest, and the Caribbean during her retirement. As a younger woman, she lived in exotic locales including Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. Faye loved to read, volunteered at several local schools, and was a die-hard UK Basketball fan.  
 
Faye is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gaddis and daughter, Viki Young. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqi Beagan (John); grandchildren, Lesley Pendleton (John), Brian Beagan; great-grandchildren, Caleb Pendleton, Peter Pendleton. 
 
She leaves behind many loyal friends and loving family in both Kentucky and Georgia.
 
Memorial Service: June 1, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Berkeley Chapel, 4043 Berkeley Lake Rd., Berkeley Lake GA.

CHAPLAIN LIEUTENANT COL. BRIAN CURRY, SHEPHERDSVILLE

 
Chaplain Lieutenant Colonel Brian D. Curry, originally from Shepherdsville, KY and currently stationed at Rock Island Arsenal, IL, returned to his heavenly home Thursday, May 24, 2018.
 
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Melissa, and their 3 sons: Jacob, Noah, and Benjamin; his parents: Benjamin and Imogene Curry; his father and mother-in-law: Jerry and Marion Weber; and many other family and friends who will forever miss him.
 
Brian was preceded in death by his 2 brothers: Greg Curry and Gerald Curry.
 
Brian faithfully and honorably served his Lord and his country as a Chaplain in the United States Army.  As a Chaplain, he ministered to soldiers and their families while stationed at Rock Island Arsenal, IL; Fort Leavenworth, KS; Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Lee, VA; Camp Casey, South Korea; and Fort Knox, KY. Chaplain Lt. Col. Curry also served two years in Afghanistan. Before his Army service, he served as pastor at Munfordville Baptist Church in Munfordville, KY. He also served as a youth minister at Munfordville Baptist Church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, and Jellico Baptist Church.
 
Brian earned his Master’s of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY and his Bachelor’s of Communications at the University of Louisville. He was a graduate of Bullitt Central High School. Brian was a man who was loved and cherished by many. His presence will be forever missed by all who were fortunate and blessed to know him.

JOHN MORRIS MARDIS, SR., 70, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
John Morris Mardis, Sr., 70, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville after a sudden illness. Born in Denver, Colorado on February 19, 1948 to the late Dr. Richard Earl and Elizabeth (Jacob) Mardis. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He retired from Walmart in Campbellsville after 20+ years of service, having spent most of those years working in the electronics department. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and loved to target shoot. A natural Mr. Fix-it, he enjoyed creating tools or techniques to solve problems as well.

Dorothy Kate Smith, 88, of Campbellsville, KY, left this world for her eternal home on Saturday, May 26, 2018. She was born July 4, 1929 to the late Rufus Ernest and Sallie Flora (Groves) Johnson.
 
Mrs. Smith was a retired employee of the Fruit of the Loom plant, having served there 29+ years. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Life Church of God.

JOHNNY "WHEELMAN" WHEELER, 54, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Johnny “Wheelman” Wheeler, 54, of Campbellsville, KY, son of Maryvene Walls Wheeler and the late Junior Wheeler, was born July 16, 1963, in Marion County, Kentucky.  He died at 12:08 A.M., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Campbellsville.    
 
Johnny was a believer in Christ.  He was an employee of Wholesale Hardwood Interiors for over twenty years.  Johnny, better known as “The Wheelman”, had a successful career in the dirt track racing circuit and was instrumental in helping others get into the sport of go cart racing. He was very thankful for all the support he received from his fans during his racing career.  Outside of racing, his greatest joy was spending time with family and grandchildren.
 
He united in marriage to Jammie Cox July 22, 2005. 
 
Besides his wife, Jammie  Wheeler of Campbellsville, he is survived by one daughter and one son:  Amber Vaughn and husband, Brad of Campbellsville and Johnathan Michael Wheeler and wife, Katie of Greenville, South Carolina; two step-children:  Ashley Hoosier and John Bradley Hoosier of Campbellsville; four grandchildren:  Hunter Vaughn and Reace Vaughn of Campbellsville and Izabella Wheeler and Blayden Wheeler of Greenville, South Carolina; his mother, Maryvene Wheeler of Sonora; one brother and one sister:  Larry Wheeler and Frankie Cox and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; special friends:  Lewis Brady and wife, Phyllis of Summersville, Kelly Wheeler and wife, Dolly, George McDonald and Robbie Wilson and wife, Shannon of Campbellsville and the Petty Family. several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Carrie Lee McClintock, 41, of the Knifley community of Adair County, KY died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 9:28 P.M. at the home of her parents after an illness. She was born February 22, 1977, in Lowville, New York and was a Certified Nursing Assistant, working at several nursing homes in the area.

Bessie Bledsoe, 97, of the Bakerton Community of Adair County, KY passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 7:40 PM at the T J Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY after several weeks illness. She was born June 3, 1920 in Monroe County, KY, the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Mary Susie Hale Turner.
 
Mrs. Bledsoe was a member of the Emory Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and many other books. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and growing exotic orchids.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Murrell Bledsoe on November 12, 1987,  siblings: Wendell Turner, Margie Ford, Zella Burris, Neva Hale & Hettie Wheet;  2 sons-in-law: Creed Lacy & Bob Turner; and by her “adopted son” Lonnie McWhorter.

LT. COL DALTON TAYLOR, 80 (ADAIR CO. NATIVE)

 
Dalton Taylor, 80, a native of Adair County, KY died May 17, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Dalton was born in Gradyville, KY on February 5, 1938.  
 
Colonel Taylor dedicated his life to serving God, his family, and as a decorated veteran and hero, served his country, which he loved so much, 33 years in the US Air Force. Colonel Taylor enlisted in the Air Force in San Antonio, in 1955, completing his Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base. Colonel Taylor then began his career as a pilot, upon completing flight school. Colonel Taylor served his country through two tours during the Vietnam War flying B-52 Bombers. He continued his career in significant leadership posts, commanding positions in Aviation, Military Intelligence, Training & Instruction, stationed at Castle AFB, Washington DC, Hickam AFB Hawaii, which most notably culminated to a distinguished position and honor; as a United Nations Joint Services Armistice Affairs, Political & Military Liaison Officer, at Yongsan Army Post, Seoul Korea. There he served as a liaison and negotiator on the DMZ, between South Korea and North Korea. Colonel Taylor, later returned to San Antonio to serve at Kelly AFB at the US Air Force distinguished Electronic Security Command. Colonel Taylor retired from the Air Force in 1989, and later continued to serve his country by passing on his knowledge, expertise and passion for this country and freedom, by developing young people to carry the torch for this country. He dedicated his remaining years by beginning two High School ROTC programs in Bakersfield, CA and most recent at Oak Ridge HS in Houston, TX. He has touched numerous lives through is life lessons and mantra of “Duty, Honor, Country”. He inspired, motivated and educated hundreds of young people to believe in themselves, achieve dreams through education and give back to this country he loved so much.

STEPHEN EMERSON, 54, OHIO

 

Stephen W. Emerson, 54, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at his residence.  Born on October 10, 1963, in Cincinnati, OH, a son of Glen E. “Gene” Emerson of Liberty and the late Loretta B. Wyatt Emerson. 
 
Stephen was a cabinet maker and a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer.
 
In addition to his father, Stephen is survived by his daughter, Loren Emerson; a brother, Phillip (Terry) Emerson; a niece, Nichole Emerson; an aunt, Lois Wells of Liberty; and an uncle, Rex Emerson of Oxford, OH.

Goldie was the widow of Clint “Buck” Grant & Billy Gene Jones. She was also preceded in death by three brothers & three sisters: Raymond Ray Burton, Vernon Burton, Hollis E. Burton, Eula Warren, Beulah Caldwell & Nannie Overstreet.
 
She was a member of Egypt Christian Church, she loved flowers, crafts, fishing, one of the organizers of the Knifley Fire Department, active in the Democratic Party & worked to help raise funds for the upkeep of Bearwallow Cemetery.

Lucille Wooley Brockman Poe, 91, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Sherman Wooley and Grace Childers Wooley, was born October 30, 1926 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:45 P.M., Monday, May 21, 2018 in Campbellsville.  
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. Lucille was employed as a secretary with the Taylor County RECC for forty-one and a half years. She loved to cook, was well known for her recipes and owned numerous cookbooks. She was also a wonderful hostess who loved to entertain and have dinner parties and had previously been employed as a hostess at Creekside Restaurant.
 
She united in marriage to Ray “Jack” Brockman November 12, 1946 and he preceded her in death September 20, 1990. She later married to Ralph Poe June 11, 1994 and he preceded her in death April 13, 2011.
 
She is survived by 1 sister-in-law, Tina Wooley of Campbellsville; 6 nieces and 1 nephew: Brenda Orr and husband, Steve, of Campbellsville, Bobbi Jo Adams, Carol Viers and husband, Daniel of Campbellsville, Wanda Farris, Sheena Mays and husband, Daryl of Campbellsville, Patty West and husband, Ray of Cleveland, Ohio and Jessie Davis and wife, Cathy of Lexington; special friend, Dean Mings of Campbellsville; and other relatives & friends.

Marian Clair Parker, 77, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL. Marian was born in Jacksonville, FL on November 9, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James Edward, Sr. & June Della Richardson Weeks.
 
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Henderson, two brothers-in-law, Harlin Parker and Allen Parker and a sister-in-law, Iona White.
 
She married Ronald Evan Parker and they would have celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary on July 10th of this year. She was a talented artist, loved helping the needy, loved to fish and play golf and never met a stranger. Prior to retiring she had worked as an Administrative Assistant and was of the Catholic faith.

She united in marriage to Murrell “Pete” Raffety September 1, 1943 and he preceded her in death April 13, 2005.
 
She is survived by 1 daughter: Sandra Gumm and husband, Mike of Campbellsville; 2 grandsons:   Allen Gumm and Steven Gumm and wife, Laura of Campbellsville; 2 great-grandchildren: Savannah Nicole Gumm and George Ryne Gumm; 1 brother-in-law, Carl Rafferty and wife, Anna of Taylor, Michigan; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

RICHARD JETER, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Richard Jeter, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late James “Bud” Jeter and Sarah Janie Cox Jeter, was born February 28, 1931 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He died at 1:43 P.M., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 in Columbia, KY.   
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle, where he was instrumental in founding the Church.
 
He united in marriage to Gracie Martin September 24, 1950 and she preceded him in death December 9, 2016.
 
Richard was employed at TGT for forty-four years and was a former superintendent.
 
He is survived by 2 sons: Dr. Harold Wilkerson and wife, Brenda and Dr. Richard Allen Jeter and wife, Eveylene of Campbellsville; 5 grandchildren: Dr. Andrea Russell and husband, Dr. Dirk Russell of Canton, Georgia, Jarrod Wilkerson of Louisville, Erin Martin and husband, Kelly and Ashley Dooley and husband, Damon of Campbellsville and Matt Underwood and wife, Jeanett of LaGrange; 12 great-grandchildren: Madelyn Russell, Jillian Russell, Ava Russell and Luke Russell of Canton, Georgia, Jackson Martin, Maxwell Davis, Zachary Martin and Sarah Davis of Campbellsville, Hannah Underwood and Noah Underwood of LaGrange and Shelby Dooley and Payton Dooley of Campbellsville; special niece, Alene Gilpin of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Barbara Young Scott, 74, of Burkesville, KY passed away on  Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Cumberland County Hospital. Barbara was born on December 13, 1943 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late Paul and Roxie Goodhue Young.  
 
Barbara was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Cumberland County Hospital for 35 years and a member of Burkesville First Christian Church. 
 
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt who raised her, Horace and Willie Mae Norris, one brother, Lee Young, and two sisters, Ruby Canon, and Nina Anderson.

Gary Ford, 50, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 6:18 A.M. at his sister’s residence. He was born May 6, 1968 in Adair County, to the late Mitchell & Estelle Corbin Ford. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Billy & Donnie Ford, and two sisters, Mary Helm and Betty Greer.  
 
He was of the Baptist faith, worked at Cox Interior and loved fishing, Nascar Racing and the Kentucky Derby.

She was a member of the Irish Bottom Christian Church and a homemaker.

Richie Janes, 70, of the Gradyville Community in Adair County, KY passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 2:45pm at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY. He was born on Aug. 14, 1947 in Gradyville, KY, the son of R. Bernard Janes and the late L V Sexton Janes who preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 2015. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Neagle Janes on November 15, 1983.
 
Richie was a member of 3 Trees Church and operated  Janes’ Fertilizer & Farm Supply at Gradyville for 39 years and was a farmer. He was currently serving on the Adair County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, a member of the Adair County Cattlemen’s Association, and a member of the Kentucky Fertilizer Association.

ROBERT "BOB" WHITE, 92, COLUMBIA

 

Robert M. “Bob” White, 92, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:25 A.M. in Campbellsville. He was born February 18, 1926 in the Little Cake community of Adair County to the late Robert Bruce & Lela Beard White.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Daisy Sandusky White, and one sister, Amelia Wesley. 

 

Bob served his country during WWII in the United States Navy from May 1944 to June 1946.  After returning from service, he worked at Henry Sandusky’s Lumber Mill and the Bank of Columbia.  In 1961, he was elected as Adair County Court Clerk where he served until 1985.

Kenneth Wesley Stafford, 79, of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Liberty, KY on April 2, 1939 a son of the late Ellet and Lela Mildred Cochran Stafford.

JOE KNOPP, 89, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Joe Knopp, 89, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Joe Knopp and Hazel Shipp Knopp, was born January 8, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  He died at 11:05 P.M., Friday, May 11, 2018 in Campbellsville.
 
Joe served his country honorably in the United States Army and served two tours of war in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was a retired employee of Kroger after thirty nine years of dedication. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
 
He united in marriage to Frances Bennett February 3, 1951 and she preceded him in death March 6, 1990.

BETTY I. BURTON, 77, INDIANA (KY NATIVE)

 
Betty I. Burton, 77, of Hope, IN, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at her home. Born on October 21, 1940 in Wayne County, KY, Betty was the daughter of Loren and Glenna Hancock. She married Leamon Burton on March 15, 1961, who survives.
 
Betty retired from Columbus Sportswear. She attended The Ridge and Northview Assembly of God. Betty liked to read and enjoyed walking. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Welby Martin, 69, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Vernon “Radio” Martin & Arlie Mae Brockman Martin, was born August 29, 1948 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 12:05 P.M., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Campbellsville.         
 
Welby was a retired glazer with Central Kentucky Glass Company. He professed faith in Christ and attended Pitman Valley Baptist Church. Welby love traveling, listening to gospel music with his wife, camping and UK basketball, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.
 
He united in marriage to Doris Jean Stephens June 11, 1977 and she preceded him in death November 17, 2013.

Marvine Epp Crutcher, 77, of Liberty, KY passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at her residence. Born on April 9, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Helen Volkman Epp.
 
Marvine was a retired deputy sheriff at the Casey County Sheriff’s Office. She attended Liberty First Baptist Church and was a trustee on the Casey County Library Board from 1992-2002. Marvine was later on the Casey County Library advisory board for several years. She had a wonderful sense of humor with an upbeat attitude and she truly never met a stranger.
 
SURVIVORS: Her husband, Thomas “Tom” Crutcher, whom she wed on November 19, 1977; three daughters, Cindy Cordon of Berea, Ohio, Wendy (Dale) Knight of Liberty and Doree (Howard) Heckman of Liberty; and two sons, Scott (AdriAne) Carroll of Bonita, California and Tom Crutcher of Moreland; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Randall Hayes, 55, of Liberty, KY passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, in Liberty, Kentucky. Born on September 4, 1962, he was a son of the late James William and Ada Marie Summers Hayes. 
 
Randall was a forklift driver. He loved to fish and turkey hunt.
 
He is survived by 2 sisters, Vicky (Garnett) Allen of Liberty and Sherry Kane of Columbia; and 3 brothers, Pete (Joyce) Hayes of Liberty, Mark (Cheryl) Hayes of Liberty and Dale (Janice) Hayes of Indiana.

Marie was a member of Hadley Community Church and a homemaker. She greatly enjoyed the Christmas season.

LOUISE GRAY, 83, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Louise Gray of Campbellsville, 83, daughter of the late Orvil Overton and Mabel Colvin Overton, was born June 29, 1934 in Taylor County, KY. She passed over Jordan at 7:03 A.M., Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church where she enjoyed many activities with the Young At Heart Group and had dedicated more than 50 years to teaching Sunday School both there and at Robinson Creek Baptist Church. She loved life, loved shopping and love taking care of others.
 
She united in marriage to G.E. Gray on June 23, 1951.
 
Besides her husband, G.E. Gray of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons: Mark Gray of Campbellsville and Jamie Gray and wife, Bobbie of Georgetown; four grandchildren: Troy Gray of Campbellsville, Lindsay Nordin and husband, Danny of Nicholasville, Jacob Gray and Savannah Gray of Georgetown; two great-grandchildren: Bennett Nordin and Samuel Nordin of Nicholasville; one brother and one sister: Jim Overton and wife, Inez of Elizabethtown and Carolyn Belk and husband, Jerry of Louisville; one brother-in-law, R.C. William Ray “Banjo” O’Banion, 70, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late William Byron O’Banion and Dorothy Ray Hord O’Banion, was born May 11, 1947, in Marion County, KY.  He died at 6:37 P.M., Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
William professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1966-1968 and was stationed in Korea. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, camping, Kentucky basketball and family gatherings.  
 
He united in marriage to Sheila George on July 1, 1989. 
 
Besides his wife, Sheila O’Banion of Campbellsville, he is also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister: Harold O’Banion and wife, Nancy and Donald O’Banion and wife, Vicky of Campbellsville and Diane Estep and husband, Kenneth of Elizabethton, Tennessee; his mother in law, Cecil Pearl George of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Randy Joe Phelps, 64, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Jamie Phelps and Thelma Harrington Phelps, was born August 3, 1953 in Pulaski County, KY. He died Friday, May 4, 2018 in Campbellsville.     
 
Joe was a co-owner of Phelps Electric and also worked as a Foreman for Pike Electric Construction. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Joe enjoyed spending time and talking with family and friends, being outdoors and watching old westerns.
 
He united in marriage to Kathy Erp on September 20, 1984.

Patricia Anne Pruitt Williamson, 63, was born May 30, 1954 in La Chapelle, France to Maxideen Houk Pruitt of Greensburg, KY and the late David Glenn Pruitt. She passed away May 3, 2018 at her home after a lengthy illness.
 
She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Rich Pond Baptist Church. She earned a Masters degree from Western Kentucky University and was a teacher at Alvaton Elementary School for 18 years.
 
Patricia and Jerry Wayne Williamson were married May 18, 1973. She is survived by 2 daughters: Bethany Anne Henderson and Leon of Goodlettsville, TN and Aleisha Leigh Coomer and Cliff of Woodburn, KY, 4 grandsons: Atley Glenn and Mason Andrew Henderson of Goodlettsville and Paxton Wayne and Zander Lee Coomer of Woodburn, KY and 1 granddaughter: Ellen Dora Henderson of Goodlettsville, TN. She is also survived by 1 sister: Pamela Jane Burress and Greg of Greensburg, KY.

Joel “Joey” Davidson, 56, the son of Nina (Riley) Davidson of Campbellsville, KY and the late Alfred Davidson, was born Tuesday, January 30, 1962 in Brown County, Ohio and departed this life on Friday, May 4, 2018 in Campbellsville at his home. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a farmer, a former salesman and a former employee of Cox Interiors in Campbellsville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Alma Lou Wilkinson Haggard, 72, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her home. Born June 21, 1945 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Hershel and Cleo Vivian Lay Wilkinson. 
 
Alma was a retired administrative assistant for FHA.  She attended Watson’s Chapel Christian Church.
 
Survivors: Her husband, Larry Haggard, whom she married May 2, 1980; 2 sons, Bruce Sidwell of Duluth, Georgia and Larry Michael (Debbie) Haggard of Spencer, Indiana; 2 daughters, Vivian (Edwin) Upchurch of Russell Springs and Teresa (Bill) Moberly of Nicholasville; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Walter Gregg Young, Sr., 84, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Walter Chaney Young and Juanita Jean Powell Young, was born January 12, 1934 in Jefferson County, KY. He died at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Elizabethtown.         
 
Walter served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and proudly retired after 24 years. He was a member of the American Legion Edwards-O’Banion Post #82.

Willie Mason “Bill” French, 96, of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late George French and Emon Whitlock French, was born October 19, 1921, in Taylor County, KY. He died at 11:44 P.M., Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
 
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith. Bill was instrumental in starting the Jesus Name Church and he steadily reaffirmed the importance of walking with Jesus to his family.
 
He was a retired farmer, enjoyed gardening and in his early years, worked at a sawmill in Elk Horn.  
 
He is survived by two daughters: Viola Sneed and Leona Price of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren: Angie McFall and husband, Larry, Robbie Wilson and wife, Shannon, Daren Wilson and wife, Suzanne of Campbellsville, Karen Clark of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Sharon Clements and Patsy Sluder of Campbellsville, Patricia Pyles of Pensacola Florida and Billy Ray Perkins and wife, Sharon of Greensburg; special great-granddaughter and caregiver, Mason Taylor Wilson of Campbellsville; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Roy French of Raywick and Kenneth Hardin French of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Short was a member of the Hickory Grove Church of Christ, he worked in the oil fields with Billy Finley Oil Company and was a farmer.

Glen D. Hancock, 79, of Greensburg, KY, son of the late Thurman Hancock and Thelma Squires Hancock, was born June 26, 1938 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home in the Bramlett Community of Green County. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Summershade United Methodist Church and also attended the Greensburg United Methodist Church. He was a farmer, employee of Don's Lumber Company, and a Veteran having served in the United States Army.
 
He was also preceded in death on June 8, 2012 by his wife of 51 years, Mary Sue Brown Hancock having united in marriage on June 21, 1960.

DAVID LEE "JOANER" NELSON, 86, CAMPBELLSVILLE

David Lee “Joaner” Nelson, 86, of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late William and Edna (Stearman) Nelson, passed from this life on Monday, April 30, 2018 after an extended illness. 
 
Mr. Nelson was a retired truck mechanic for Flav-o-Rich and Chappell Dairy. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1955. Mr. Nelson enjoyed stock car racing, and won several trophies as an amateur driver. As a man that always tried to better himself, he was also a competitive bowler, but he loved his family above all else.
 
Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Pearl Sullivan, Ruth Nelson, Gladys Milby, Florence Curry and Buckner Nelson.

1 step-daughter: Pam Gribbins and husband Eric of Campbellsville
1 step-son: Keith Spurling of Campbellsville
