Michael Sullivan, 74, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, KY.  He was born on March 17, 1944 in Russell County, KY, a son of the late Omra & Betsy White Sullivan.
 
Michael was a long time hairdresser.
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one half-sister, Betty Antle and brothers Danny and Phillip Sullivan.

Wilbur Wilson, 86, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital. He was born November 29, 1931 in Russell County to the late Vertis & Lura Popplewell Wilson.
 
He was a truck driver and a member of Good Tidings Baptist Church.
 
In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by 1 son: Donald; 4 siblings: Bethel Rexroat, Ozzie Wilson, Ermel Wilson & Arnett Wilson.

DALE RAE ORBERSON CONNOR, 55, GREENSBURG

 
Dale Rae (Orberson) Connor, 55,  the daughter of the late Clifton Ray and Gracie Maydell Followell Orberson, was born Wednesday, December 26, 1962 in Marion County and departed this life on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Greensburg at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital after as the result of an automobile accident. 
 
She was an employee of Amazon in Campbellsville. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom for over 16 years and Park-Hannifan in Louisville and she was of the Christian Faith.
 
Dale enjoyed going to car races, especially NASCAR and loved being with her family and friends.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory:  a daughter: Ashley Hill and husband Kash of Greensburg; two sisters: Donna Taylor and husband Chris and Mary Oder and companion Johnny Amburgey all of Campbellsville; her special friends: Carrie Parks and Bradley Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
 
Besides her parents, Dale was preceded in death by a son: Brandon Wayne Gore.
 
Memorial Service: Friday at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating
 
Visitation: 2:00 P.M. Friday until time for service.

Paul B. Miller, 80, of the Glens Fork Community of Adair County, KY (a native of Green County), passed away on March 15, 2018 at his home.

Leon Franklin, 85, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Health Systems in Jamestown, KY. He was born in Jamestown on December 23, 1932, a son of the late Lora (Brumley) and Dewey Franklin.

Norman “Bally” Janes, 69, of Campbellsville, KY died Monday, April 23, 2018 at 9:17 A.M. at his home. He was born June 19, 1948, in Green County, KY to the late Galeon and Sallie Keltner Janes. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Lewis, Bill and Johnnie Janes, Ruth Burris, Ernestine Kemp.  Bally was a self-employed electrician and plumber, could fix about anything and enjoyed fishing.  He was a member of Pollard’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Brooks Coomer, 95, of Columbia, KY died Friday, April 20, 2018 at 12:58 P.M. at the University Hospital in Louisville. He was born February 24, 1923, in Adair County, KY to the late Cager and Sally Yarberry Coomer.  
 
Mr. Coomer was a member of Sparksville Baptist Church, serving in a number of roles and positions, a US Army Veteran of World War II, a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 6097 and a retired educator in Adair County after 35 years.  He will be remembered best as Principal of Adair County High School from 1957-1969.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Dunphy on December 12, 2016.  Judith was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Alonzo Isaacs, 84, of Owenton, Ky (formerly of Russell Co) died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Gallatin Nursing & Rehab in Owenton, Ky. He was born February 12, 1934 in McKee, KY to the late Carl & Virgie Sparks Isaacs.
 
Alonzo was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Isaacs.

BEULAH PETTYJOHN, 89 OF LIBERTY

 

Beulah F. Pettyjohn of Liberty, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  She was 89 years of age.

Born November 23, 1928 in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Sib and Janie Scott Allen.  Ms. Beulah loved quilting, gardening, and caring for her flowers.  She was a member of Noel’s Chapel First Church of God.

Survivors include three sons, Clint “Jack” Atwood, Allen (Rose) Atwood, and Craig (Jennie) Atwood all of Liberty; two daughters, Sandra Wethington of Campbellsville and Ginger (Rick) Paevey of Lexington; one sister, Matra Bland of Louisville; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh “P.J.” Pettyjohn whom passed away September 19, 1971; her former husband, Shelby Atwood; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter. 

Funeral services are 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Brother Hershel Lawhorn and Brother Cameron Cain officiating.  Burial will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12:00-3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

CHARLES DOUGLAS WHITLEY, 40, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Charles Douglas Whitley, 40, of Campbellsville, KY passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was the son of Terresa Malone, who survives.
 
Mr. Whitley had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. He had a big heart and loved helping his friends and family.
 
Besides his mother, he leaves to mourn his passing:

She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

Lydia Clark, 83, of Yosemite, KY passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018. She was born in Liberty, KY on February 11th, 1935 a daughter of the late Albert & Myrtle Cochran Vanoy.
 
Lydia was the widow of Harold Clark who passed away on March 11th, 2017. She was also preceded her in death were 2 brothers: Alvin and Herlin Vanoy and 5 sisters: Geneva Wilson, Geraldine Asberry, Irene Taylor, Sadie Sharp & Adell Camden.
 
Lydia was a Former Cook at Middleburg Elementary and former employee of  Cowden’s Manufacturing.

John Riley White, 76, of Russell Springs, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. He was born November 17, 1941 in Lewisburg, Ky to the late Thomas & Jessie Taylor White.
 
John was a truck driver and a member of Jamestown First Baptist Church.

Mae Scott Richardson, 73, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Bluegrass Hospice Center in Lexington. Born September 14, 1944 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Lela Allen Scott. 
 
Mae loved knitting and crocheting.

David McFarland, 75, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington KY.  David was born on November 1, 1942 in Russell County, KY, a son of the late Flora Lay & Arnold McFarland.
 
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sibblings, Everest McFarland and Juanita Dunbar.
 
He was retired from General Motors and  was of the Baptist faith.

Christine Smith Hansford, 89, of Liberty, KY passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Casey County Hospital.  Born February 25, 1929 in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late John Jacob and Mary Ellis Dick Smith.  
 
Christine was a wonderful wife and mother.  She was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church and former employee of Liberty Sportswear. 
 
SURVIVORS: 1 daughter: Rhonda Burton of Liberty; 1 brother: Ancil Smith of Indiana; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 
 
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edgar Hansford, who passed away October 27, 1991; one son, William Dean Hansford; three brothers, Buster, Oscar, and William Smith; six sisters, Manilla Ellison, Rella Hines, Della McAninch, Dean Hinson, Ora Gadberry, and Marie Drostie; and one great-grandchild. 
 
Cremation rites were honored by McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sharon Sue Durrett Bishop, 68, of Summersville, KY, daughter of the late Ancil "Bug" Durrett and Wilma Hall Durrett, was born on Wednesday, December 7, 1949 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. 
 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church. She was also a retired Agriculture Programmer for the ASCS Office.
 
Survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronnie Lane Bishop of Summersville having united in marriage on January 3, 1969.
Other survivors include a son: Derek Lane Bishop of Campbellsville; a daughter: Ashley Ree Bishop of Summersville; two grandchildren: Campbell Lane Bishop of Louisville and Ivy Ree Steagall of Summersville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Judy Durrett, Steve and Stella Durrett, and Troy and Marla Durrett all of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joyce Elaine Hatfield, 69, of Liberty, KY passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.  Born on May 27, 1948, in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Irvin and Violet Irene Randolph Wood. 
 
Joyce was a retired hairdresser. She loved to sing, read and spend time with her family.
 
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Roy Hatfield, who passed away on July 14, 2013.

Lewis Dayton VanFossen, age 69, was born August 31, 1948 in Rushville, Ohio to the late Dayton and Charlotte Heskitt VanFossen. He departed this life Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home in Green County, KY.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the United Bretheren Church in Ohio. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the National Guard for six years. He was a retired Machine Technician at Amazon. He coached PeeWee League Football in Louisville, KY for several years. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother: John VanFossen.

PEGGY GILPIN, 86, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Peggy Gilpin, 86, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Thurman Wilcoxson and Sadie Sharp Wilcoxson, was born January 5, 1932, in Taylor County, KY.  She died at 7:00 A.M., Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
 
Peggy professed faith in Christ and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church where along with her husband she served as custodian.  She enjoyed music and was the pianist and organist at church for several years.  Another of Peggy’s passions was cooking and baking and always had a ready supply of food from the garden and farm. No visitor ever left her home hungry.  
 
She united in marriage to Bobby Gilpin March 10, 1951.  He preceded her in death March 27, 2018.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 sons:  Larry Gilpin and wife, Debbie and Bill Gilpin and wife, Karen of Campbellsville; 3 grandchildren:  Miranda Zottman and husband, Corey, Aaron Gilpin and wife, Meredith all of Campbellsville and Holly Carroll and husband, Chris of Cashion, Oklahoma; 4 great-grandchildren; Jack Zottman, John Zottman, Maggie Carroll and Reed Carroll; one brother, Frank Wilcoxson and wife, Aileen of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She had professed faith in Christ and attended the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene.  She was a secretary for her husband at the veterinary clinic and a lifelong bookkeeper.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting, genealogy research, recipe gathering and reading.
 
She was preceded in death by a son, Darren McGuire and a brother, Robbie Grinstead

Harold Franklin “Popeye” Milby, 87, of Campbellsville, KY died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Harold was born in Cartwright Township, IL on December 17, 1930 the son of the late Homer and Lillian Morgan Milby.    
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Sapp Milby and siblings, Marie Mitchell, Leonard Milby and Arey Milby.  
 
He had retired from Ingersoll-Rand and in his spare time enjoyed working on old cars.   He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church in Green County.

Mr. Wilson was a U. S. World War II Army Air Force Veteran and a Manager for the Marrowbone Water District.

He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
 
J.D. was a retired employee of Bourbon Cooperage in Lebanon and was also a farmer and carpenter.
He enjoyed gardening, tending to his cattle and spending time with his son, Joe’s, special dog, Katie.

William “Bill” Hall, 61, of Campbellsville, KY,  son of the late Robert Dorsey Hall and Arbell Gupton Hall, was born November 6, 1956, in Taylor County, KY. He died at 3:53 P.M., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church. He participated in the choir and was head of the Safety and Security Committee.
 
He was employed by the Campbellsville Fire Department from 1978-2012; retired as Assistant Chief of the Campbellsville Fire Department and was an active volunteer for Campbellsville-Taylor County Fire Departments.
 
Bill was Regional Director of the Kentucky Firefighter Association and was on the Firefighter Association Hall of Fame Committee and worked with the Firefighter Explorer Program for many years. He was also Chairman of the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
 
He united in marriage to Deborah Thompson January 1, 1984.
 
Besides his wife,  he is survived by 1 daughter, Becky Hall of Metcalf County; 1 brother and 2 sisters: Doug Hall & wife Lisa of Westminister, Colorado, Barbara D. Hall & spouse Becky Powers of Louisville and Melinda Hayes of Campbellsville; several nieces & nephews and many other relatives & friends
 
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Hall French.

Louise Wesley, age 71, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at the Liberty Care Center. Born October 6, 1946, in Liberty, KY, she was a daughter of Mildred Faye Lawson Grider and the late Vernon Grider, Sr. 
 
She was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Louise was a member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. She was the former owner of WKDO Radio in Liberty. She was a former employee of the Casey News and the Commonwealth Journal. Louise was a former member of the Kentucky Broadcaster’s Association.
 
Louise was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Grider, Sr. and four brothers, Gary, Butch, Junior, and Jeff Grider.

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Harley Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and an artist. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his former wife, Shirley Babbitt, five brothers and two sisters: Raymond Overstreet, Nina Croninger, Robert, Clifford, J.D., Darrell and Bonnie Mae Babbitt.

Hazel “Joan” Richards Roberts, 76, of Liberty, KY passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Liberty Care Center. Born on November 27, 1941, in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Snow Richards. She was a homemaker. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
 
She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Moses) Lee of Knifley; two sons, Mitch (Misty) Roberts of Hustonville and Chris Roberts of Liberty; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister, Maryetta (Ancil) Hale of Liberty; and a brother, JD Richards of Indiana.
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Roberts, who passed away on March 24, 2013; and a brother, Ernest Richards.

Doris Lillian Grider Humphrey, 84, of Dunkirk, IN, formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 while in the company of family members at Miller's Merry Manor in Dunkirk, Indiana. She was born in Cumberland County, KY on Wednesday, January 3, 1934, the daughter of Earnest and Ermine Anderson Grider. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carlie E. Humphrey whom she happily married on Saturday, July 3, 1948 and sadly lost on Thursday, February 25, 1993, her son Carl Humphrey Jr., her daughter Marjorie Jo LeNoble, her brothers Henry Grider, Walter (Chicken) Grider, Bobbie Grider, Evan Grider, her sisters Audrey Goolsby, Margaret Moore and 2 grandchildren. 
 
Doris worked as a Custodian at Ball State University in Muncie, IN., and was a member of the Redkey Baptist Church. She was quick-witted, spunky and an all around sassy little lady who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed cooking and canning and was known for her "awesome fried chicken". Doris also enjoyed crocheting, and listening to Conway Twitty, George Jones, and Elvis.

Pauline Carman Snow, 91, of Waynesburg, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born Sunday, August 8, 1926 in Waynesburg, she was the daughter of the late Manford & Lina Campbell Carman. 
 
Pauline was the widow of the late Roy Snow, who proceeded her in death September 30, 1984. Pauline worked as a beautician and worked at Liberty Sportswear from 1969-1982. She was a member of Green River Christian Church in Yosemite and her favorite past-time was quilting.
 
Pauline leaves behind one son, Ronnie Snow of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews and other family members who mourn her passing. 
 
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Wilma McQueen, Hazel Gambrel, and Shirley Carman.

CLYDE BARKLEY SATTERLY, 75, CAMPBELSVILLE

 
Clyde Barkley Satterly, 75, of Campbellsville, KY was born on October 4, 1942 to the late Ralph and Lillie (Smith) Satterly. He departed this life on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home. 
 
Mr. Satterly was a retired driver for the Kerns Bread Company and a former pipeline employee. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Southern Baptist faith. A member of Pittman Masonic Lodge, he had also served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a kindhearted, solid, responsible man, and leaves a legacy of kindness and honor behind him. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether listening to the coon hounds run or rabbit or deer hunting, and had a knack for landing big bass. And it didn’t matter if he was trail riding horses or four wheelers, he always took time to make sure the stray cats were fed and cared for.
 
Mr. Satterly was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mrs. Linda Joyce (Harvey) Satterly on January 13, 2018.

Donald was a former gate hauler and a U.S. Army Veteran.

JOHN DAVID MCKINLEY

 

John David McKinley, 65, of Campbellsville, son of the late Adolphus L. McKinley and Sue Kathryn Thomas McKinley, was born June 21,1952, in Taylor County, KY. He died at 3:25 P.M., Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Louisville.     

 

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church.

 

John David was co-owner of McKinley Monument Company with his brother, Mark.

 

When he wasn’t working in the family business he could be found at his cabin watching the deer or a Nascar race, out on the tractor or ATV enjoying the great outdoors, hunting or taking his grandchildren fishing, or at a family gathering grilling up something special for the ones he loved so dearly.

 

He united in marriage to Missy Baker February 14, 2001.

 

Besides his wife, Missy McKinley of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters: Sarah McKinley and Rachel Moss and husband, Curtis of Campbellsville; two step-sons: Casey Baker and wife, Jessica of Campbellsville and Cody Baker and wife, Ashley of Edmonton; seven grandchildren: McKinley Moss, Camden Moss, Case Baker, Wes Baker, Ty Farmer, Hunter Farmer and Cash Baker; one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Vickie McKinley of Campbellsville; his mother-in-law, Betty Bennett of Campbellsville; one uncle, Bob Olt of Greensburg; two nieces and one nephew: Maggie Adams and husband, Kevin, Ellie McKinley and Simon Hedeen and wife, Karin; and many other relatives and friends.

Wyona B. Mitchell, 80, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Charles Benningfield & Carrie Green Benningfield, was born March 31, 1938, in Taylor County, KY. She died at 4:20 A.M., Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Campbellsville.         
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Wyona was a full-time homemaker who enjoyed watching UK Basketball, gardening, camping and working word search puzzles.
 
She united in marriage to James Robert Mitchell January 29, 1960 and he preceded her in death November 20, 2013.
 
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Finn and husband, Bro. Eddie Finn of Campbellsville; two grandsons: Cody Finn and wife, Charity and Tyler Finn and significant other, Jade Hayes of Campbellsville; two great-grandsons: Tyson Finn and Ryce Finn of Campbellsville; one brother, Don Benningfield of Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Gladys Combest Murrell, 91, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 5:50 AM at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY after several months illness. She was born in Adair County, KY on January 25, 1927 the daughter of the late William Jeffries and Carrie Holmes Combest.
 
She was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church and a teacher at Lindsey Wilson College and the Adair County School System. She was a member of the Adair Co. Retired Teachers, Adair Homemakers and Methodist Women.   She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, feeding and watching songbirds.

JASON LITTLE, 41, WV (TAYLOR CO. NATIVE)

 

Jason H. Little, 41, of Huntington, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 2, 2018. Jason was born November 24th, 1976, the son of the late Harvey and Urcha Little. Jason grew up in Whitley City, Kentucky with his loving parents. He adored his daddy and mama dearly, speaking of them often. Jason was a beautiful humble soul with a heart of gold who never met a stranger. Jason worked for his dear friend, Steve Saunders (whom he looked up to as a father) at Saunders Lawn Care in Huntington, WV.

 

Survivors include his aunts and uncle: Mildred Perkins, Wanda Merritt, and Earl Little and wife Dorothy all of Campbellsville, Audrey Gupton and husband Lawrence of Greensburg, and Dr. Linda Little and husband David Rymph of Washington. Jason is also survived by many friends that he called his family: Sean, Angie, Diamond, Mike, Bud, Koty, Triplett, all of his co-workers, and many others.

 

Jason will be cremated and his remains will be laid to rest at the foot of his father’s grave in the Saloma Cemetery in Taylor County. A Candlelight Vigil is planned to take place at Riverfront Park by Pullman Square in Huntington, WV on Saturday, April 14, 2018 to give his loving friends the opportunity to pay their respects and say goodbye to their friend. A graveside interment service will be held in the Saloma Cemetery at a later date.

 

ANNA LAURA HEREFORD RUSH, 88, (CROCUS, KY NATIVE)

 
Anna "Ann" Laura Hereford Rush, age 88, was born to Charles Hereford & Winnie Miller-Hereford on April 19, 1929. She grew up on the family farm in Crocus, KY.
 
Ann attended high school in Jamestown, KY and then later Georgetown Baptist College. She also attended Gallaudet College in Washington, D.C. in order to earn a Master's degree in deaf education. Ann taught in the Riverside Unified School District for 44 years. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her mother Winnie; father Charles; and many other friends and loved ones.

Clifton Marden Thompson, 75, of Edmonton, KY was born January 8, 1943 to the late Verlon and Magdalene Edwards Thompson in Green County, KY and passed away  on April 1, 2018 in Edmonton after a brief illness.
 
Clifton was united in marriage to Linda Marguerite London on October 12, 1963.   He was a member of the Sulphur Well United Methodist Church where he had served as song leader, retired from Edmonton State Bank after 37 years, enjoyed playing golf, fishing, singing, and cheering for the Kentucky Wildcats, the Cincinnati Reds, and his grandchildren’s teams.

Rita Nelson Cobb, 76, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Shelby Bottoms and Alice Greer Bottoms, was born March 30, 1942, in Taylor County, KY. She died at 8:45 A.M., Tuesday, April 3, 2018 in Campbellsville.
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a retired employee of Wal-Mart. Rita enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends; she never met a stranger.
 
Rita united in marriage to Pete Nelson August 15, 1959 and he preceded her in death May 2, 1978. She later united in marriage to Claude Cobb July 15, 1989 and he preceded her in death February 26, 2005.
 
SURVIVORS: 1 daughter and 1 son: Missy Chelf & husband Doug of Campbellsville, KY;  Greg Nelson and wife Lisa of Lexington, KY. Rita became a mother to her nieces, Patty Phillips & Linda (Russell) Skaggs after the death of their mother. Rita is also survived by6 grandchildren: Austin Chelf, Candace Bradley and husband Joey, Clay Nelson, Jessi Phillips, Jenny Skaggs and Andi Skaggs;  3 great-grandchildren: Ava Bradley; Sophi Glapion; Kellan Glapion. 1 brother and 2 sisters: J. Lewis Dayton VanFossen, age 69, was born August 31, 1948 in Rushville, Ohio to the late Dayton and Charlotte Heskitt VanFossen. He departed this life Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home in Green County, KY.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the United Brethern Church in Ohio. He was a retired Machine Technician at Amazon and a member of the National Guard for six years. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother: John VanFossen.
 
He is survived by his wife Patricia Stephens VanFossen, 2 brothers: Elson, Herb and 1 sister: Stella VanFossen, all of Ohio, plus a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

GENEVA "TOOTSIE" TRIPLETT LOY, 90. RUSSELL SPRINGS

 
Geneva "Tootsie" Triplett Loy, 90, of Russell Springs, KY died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital ER. She was born May 7, 1927 in Adair County to the late Leslie & Emma Bennett Triplett.
 
Geneva was a cook in the Russell County Schools.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orvin Loy, a sister, Doris Jean Reece and a brother-in-law, Mack Powell.

LESLIE RICHARD "LES" HENDERSON, 91, KNIFLEY

 
Leslie Richard “Les” Henderson, 91, the son of the late David and Anna Swan Henderson, was born Thursday, October 14, 1926 in White Plains, New York and departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in the Knifley Community (Adair County). 
 
 He was Veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was a land developer and entrepreneur for most of his adult life. He was named Business Man of the Year in Columbus, Ohio in 1965 and was in the Olympic Diving Hall of Fame and was of the Methodist Faith.
 
He united in marriage to Betty Jane Young who preceded him in death in 1995 he later united in marriage to Tammy Garnes, who also preceded him in death in 2018.
 
Survivors include: four children: Susan Aluise and companion Dennis Coomer of Russell County, Bobbie Jo Henderson and partner Brian Hooper of Columbus, Ohio, Michelle Kingdollar and husband Bill of Columbia, and L.D. Henderson of Columbus, Ohio; 9 grandchildren: Jamie, Josh, Ashley, Amber, Jacob, Billy, Kimberly, Aaron and Lakette and husband Travis; 10 great-grandchildren; his furry friend: Friskie and a host of other family and close friends.
 
Funeral service: Monday, April 2, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow the service. Bro. Steve Orr will be officiating.
 
Visitation: Monday, April 2, 2018 after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
 

JULIENNE CHOUTEAU BOOTH, 58, LIBERTY

 
Julienne Elizabeth Chouteau Booth, 58, of Liberty, KY passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her residence.  Born on February 15, 1960, in Trenton, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Miriam Murphy Chouteau. Julienne loved art and dolls. She was a very loving mother and was a firm believer in Christ.
 
SURVIVORS: Husband, Robert “Bob” Fulton Booth, whom she married on June 15, 1989; 2 sons, Joseph (Samantha) Booth of Eubank and Noah Booth of Liberty; 5 daughters, Jeanette (Kenneth) Rought of Liberty, Meghan (Anthony) McFarland of Liberty, Teresa (Ernest) Wilson of Liberty, Sarah (Tyler) Hatter of Liberty and Brenna Booth of Liberty. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren.
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one grandchild.
 
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Warren officiating
 
Burial: A private burial will be held in the Booth Family Cemetery
 
Visitation: 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home
