Susan Holder, 74, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was born on December 28, 1951 in Pulaski County, KY, a daughter of the late Arnis Veston and Eunice Ilene Gaskin Holder.

After graduating from high school, she immediately began working at the Bank of Jamestown. At the bank, Susan dedicated 52 years of service and then retired as Vice President. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, flower gardening, and feeding the birds. Susan was also a huge Atlanta Braves fan. However, her greatest joy was spending time and taking care of her many cats.

Albert Francis Miarka Jr., 69, of Columbia, KY passed away Monday September 7, 2026 at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Miarka was a veteran in the United States Army for five years and later became a union worker. Mr. Miarka also enjoyed fishing with his family, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends.

Clara Amelia West, 82, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026 at her residence. She was born on January 24, 1944 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late John Glenn and Bessie May Shaw Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. West Sr.

Ms. West was in multiple bowling leagues throughout her life, enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.

Lois Marie Holt Meece, 88, of Glens Fork, KY passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Jamestown. She was born on June 21, 1938 in Russell County, a daughter of the late James Frank and Clara Frances Wiggington Crockett.
 

Lois was a retired factory worker from Fruit of the Loom. After retirement, she enjoyed being a caregiver and a homemaker. Lois was of the Separate Baptist faith.

Wanda Faye Hatcher, 68, of Columbia, KY died Friday, September 4, 2026 at 7:50 P.M. at TJ Health Columbia. She was born October 6, 1957 to the late Paul and Alene Kimbler Kelsay. 
 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two grandchildren: Luke William Hatcher and Case Wayde Keltner, and her brothers: Jerry Kelsay and Bobby Kelsay.

Wanda was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a homemaker.

Sandra Lee Janes, 75, of Columbia, KY passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1951 in Adair County, KY to the late Chester and Alta Bault Robertson.

Sandra will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her and for the joy she found in spending time with her family and friends. Her life was also marked by her faith as a member of Word of Life Church, a connection that was an important part of who she was.

Sheila Rene Watson Blair, 59, of Columbia, KY passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1967 in Marion, Indiana, a daughter of James & Judy Grant Watson of Columbia, KY who survive.

Her passing brings deep sorrow to those who knew and loved her, while also leaving behind a legacy rooted in devotion to family, faithful service, and a life warmly shared with others.

Sheila was a 1985 graduate of Adair County High School and later attended Lindsey Wilson College. She gave much of her working life to public service, serving the Adair County Clerk’s Office for 40 years, from 1986 to the present. From 2006 until 2014, she served as Adair County Court Clerk, a role that reflected her steady commitment and dedication to her community.

Beyond her work, Sheila found great joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. She loved going to the beach and treasured time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandsons. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking, gifts that brought comfort and happiness to many gatherings and made people feel welcomed in her presence. She was also an avid University of Kentucky fan, enjoying the excitement and spirit that came with cheering on her team. Her faith was an important part of her life as well. She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church and had recently attended Columbia Christian Church. Most of all, Sheila will be remembered for the love she gave to her family.

Allan Robertson, 77, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.  He was born on October 23, 1948 in Somerset, KY, a son of the late Homer and Iris Perkins Robertson. 
 

Allan was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a former member of the Russell County Honor Guard.
