Ernestine Conner, 89, (formerly of Russell Springs) died Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. She was born May 25, 1930 in Russell County to the late Fred Cleo & Betty Sue Murphy Garner.
 
She was a  Hairdresser and a member of First Baptist Church of Russell Springs.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Conner; 2 sons, George Lewis Conner, Dudley O. Conner, Jr,; 1 granddaughter, Jennifer Rebecca Grawemeyer Jordan; 5 sisters, Flora Garner Cundiff, Edna Garner Miller, Ruth Garner Helm, Geneva Garner Coe; 4 brothers; Gordon Garner, Herlan Garner, Joe Garner, Cordell Garner

Jerry Blankenship, 72, of Jamestown, KY passed away Monday, November 25th, at his residence.  He was born in New Castle, IN on August 11, 1947, a son of the late Eva Mae (Lucy) and Audie A. Blankenship.

Joe David Bennett, 78, of Jamestown, died Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Russell County Hospital. He was born November 17, 1941 in Russell County to the late Joseph Power & Cora Brown Bennett.
 
Joe was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired as a Tool & Die Maker at General Motors.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Renea Waltz; and a brother, Jerry Bennett.

Mrs. Routt was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and a homemaker. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

Mary Lou (Seay) Graham, 75, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Evelyn (Smith) Seay, was born on June 13, 1944. She passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her home. 
 
Mary Lou was a former Home Health Aide, and was of the Baptist faith. She lived a quiet and peaceful life, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Graham, in 2002.

CLINT MITCHELL FLANAGAN, 52, RUSSELL SPRINGS

 

Clint Mitchell Flanagan, 52, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Wednesday, November 27 2019 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, August 01 1967, in Campbellsville, KY, son of the late Rudy Mitchell Flanagan and  Agnes Higginbotham Beasley, of Russell Springs, KY who survives.
 
Clint was a member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. He was an avid UK fan, loved playing basketball, traveling, riding his bicycle and serving as greeter at his church. Clint attended Russell Springs Active Day Center for approximately 25 years. He touched many lives by saying "hey" or giving a wave. Clint never forgot a face. He loved his church family and community.

KAY SHIPP, 79, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Kay Shipp, 79, of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Chester Arthur Benningfield and Ivan Martin Benningfield, was born November 7, 1940, in Taylor County, KY. She died at 10:05pmET on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Campbellsville.    
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Kay was a retired employee of Citizens Bank and Trust Company after forty-four years of service where she was Head Cashier and Assistant Vice President. Her love of farming started at a young age as she and her sisters would milk before school in the mornings. She continued farming throughout her life and especially enjoyed caring for the calves on the family farm.
 
She united in marriage to Willie Ray Shipp June 2, 1963 and he preceded her in death March 23, 2011. Kay was also preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Bennett October 9, 2014 and Christine Benningfield October 3, 2018.
 
SURVIVORS: 2 sons: Louis Shipp and David Shipp & wife Janice of Campbellsville; 1 granddaughter: Annie Kay Shipp of Campbellsville; 2 step-grandchildren: Natalie Sallee & husband Arron of California and Andrew Bowen & wife Brandy of Magnolia; 4 step-great-grandchildren: Presley Sallee and Carter Sallee of California, Candace Burk & husband Dylan of Ft. Virginia Gadberry, 85, of Fairplay, KY died Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 7:10 A.M. at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow surrounded by her family. She was born July 23, 1934 in Adair County, KY to the late Montie & Dorothy Darnell Gadberry.  
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter: Karen Frankum on July 13, 1995 and 3 grandchildren: Lindsey Brook Aaron, Jeremy James Bryant & Amy Jo Bryant. She was in high school when she married Delphus Frankum, who also preceded her in death.
 
Virginia was a member of the Church of Christ, a caregiver, most recently, to the late Mrs. Heskamp & Mrs. Aaron and a retired employee of Osh Kosh.

William “Billy” Murrell, 84, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born April 19, 1935 in Adair County, KY to the late James and Mattie Beard Murrell. 
 
Billy was a member of Columbia Christian Church, serving as a usher for many years and a former deacon at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.  He was a farmer and veteran serving in the U. S. Army.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Brockman.

Lucille Ryder, 99, of Campbellsville, KY daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Dolly Dehoney Harrison, was born July 25, 1920 in Adair County, KY. She died at 6:20amET on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in Campbellsville.    
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. Lucille worked hard most of her life as a homemaker, seamstress and curtain maker.
 
She united in marriage to Melvin Graham who preceded her in death and later united in marriage to Thornton Ryder who also preceded her in death. Lucille was also preceded in death by three brothers: Woodruff Harrison, Woodrow Harrison and Dehoney Harrison.
 
SURVIVORS: 1 son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Janet Graham of Argyle, Texas; 1 grandson, William Harrison Graham & wife Jessica of Texas and 2 great-grandchildren: Harrison Thomas Graham and Brooke Lynn Graham; friend and caretaker, Brenda Caldwell of Campbellsville; several nieces & nephews and many other relatives & friends.

JEFFERY LEE RAY, 41, SUMMERSVILLE

 

Jeffrey Lee Ray, 41, Summersville, KY, son of Donna Young Faulkner of Greensburg and the late William Ray, was born December 4, 1977 in Greensburg, KY and departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was also retired from the Kentucky Highway Department as a machine operator.
 
Jeff was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheyanne Ray and grandparents, Albert Arvin Ray, Sudie Mae Scott Ray, and Wendell Young.

Frances Waymon Pelston, 81, of Elk Horn, KY, daughter of the late Edgar Wethington and Imelda Jane Wethington, was born April 23, 1938 in Casey County, KY.  She died at 7:17 P.M., Monday, November 18, 2019 in Elk Horn.    
 
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Frances enjoyed gardening, working in flowers, riding side-by-sides and just being outdoors. She also loved spending time with her family.
 
She united in marriage to Harold Waymon October 21, 1957 and he preceded her in death March 23, 2013. She later united in marriage to Shelby Pelston February 14, 2015.

GERTRUDE HAYNES, 93, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Gertrude Haynes, 93, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late James E. Wright and Lou Elmer Judd Wright, was born August 3, 1926 in Green County, KY.  She died at 12:55 A.M., Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Campbellsville.    
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Gertrude was a loving mother, wife and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and loved caring for all children. She took in a niece and nephew as their own after their mother’s passing.  
 
She united in marriage to George Lewis Haynes October 10, 1942 and he preceded her in death April 19, 2009.

CARL BRUNELLE, 82, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Carl Roland Brunelle, 82, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Green Hill Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Greensburg after an extended illness. He was born in Bangor, Maine on February 5, 1937.
 
Mr. Brunelle had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. He was a computer engineer, having worked for NASA on the Apollo 13 mission, and a former employee of Digital Equipment (now Hewlett-Packard). Mr. Brunelle was a veteran, and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
 
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sgt. Katherine Elizabeth Brunelle, on May 30, 2007.

Joyce Goodin Durham, 77, of Columbia, KY died Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born January 23, 1942 in Adair County, to the late Elbert and Lois Holt Goodin and was the wife of the late Hunter Durham.  

 

An active member of Columbia Baptist Church, she participated in or led various ministries in the church including Women on Mission, Operation Christmas Child and summer mission trips. She also served as church clerk.

 

Joyce was a retired educator with Adair County Public Schools serving as a high school teacher and technology coordinator. She led the FBLA club for many years and enjoyed chaperoning trips and dances. Her students loved her and she made a lasting impact on their lives.

 

She loved her husband, her family and her friends and put their needs ahead of her own. Kind and encouraging, her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. Her family and friends could always count on her to be their biggest fan and she will be greatly missed.

Stanley attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was an Outreach Specials at Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency and an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders.  Some of his interests included riding his motorcycle, photography & woodworking.  Stanley deeply loved his family and will be remembered as a kind, helpful & loving person who gave everything he had to the people with whom he worked.

DONNA ANN CORBIN, 59, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Donna Ann Corbin, 59, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of Sheraline Cox and the late John Wise, was born January 8, 1960 in Campbellsville, KY. She died on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 after battling pancreatic cancer. 
 
Donna was a strong woman of God and a lifetime member of Stoner Creek United Methodist Church. She loved her church family and serving the Lord. She blessed many through the years with her card ministry. In addition to her faith, Donna’s family and children were her main priority. She served for years as a Girl Scout Troop leader, Sunday School teacher, youth group leader and homeschooled her children. Donna was known for her creativity, from scrapbooking to decorating, wreath making and cake decorating. She was an employed by H & O Transport since the age of eighteen.
 
Donna and her husband, Tommy Corbin, were together for over 42 years – since their junior prom. They united in marriage on May 6, 1981.

Gary Wayne Taylor, 63, of Columbia, KY died Monday, November 4, 2019 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.  Born in Columbia, KY, he was the son of the late Marion Houston and Laura Gray Taylor.  
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennette Murphy Taylor; a son, Gary Wayne Taylor, Jr.; a daughter, Kimberly Robin Taylor; a sister, Bonnie Janes and 2 brothers, Mitchell and Billy Taylor.
 
Gary made his profession of Faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. He attended the Sparksville Nazarene Church for many years and later moved his membership to the United House of Prayer where his brother Don Taylor was the pastor.

DAVID ALAN STAMP, 56, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
David Alan Stamp, 56, of Campbellsville, KY passed from this life on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born on September 30, 1963 in Marion County to Preston D. and the late Betty Lou (Clark) Stamp.
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Stamp was a former builder and had worked most of his life in residential construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting Native American memorabilia and knives, and spent many an afternoon humming along with the radio - his head under the hood of an old car, his beloved Blaze napping beside him.
 
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eva Marie Stamp.

VONDA MAE FIZER, 77, BYHALIA, MS (RUSSELL CO. NATIVE)

 
Vonda Mae (Popplewell) Fizer, 77, of Byhalia, Mississippi (a native of Russell County, KY) passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2019 at Diversicare in Ripley, MS after a long illness. She was born April 1, 1942 in Russell County, KY to the late Emitt and Maudie (Johnson) Popplewell.
 
Vonda was a hard worker and of the Baptist faith. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Ocus, Coy, Dewell, Kirby, and Bruce Popplewell and 3 sisters: Nona Siler, Margie Chumbley, and Audine Fox.

WILLIAM WATSON, 87, COLUMBIA

 

William Watson, 87, of Columbia, KY died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Born in Adair County, he was the son of the late William Coy and Ethel Roberta Feese Watson.
 
William attended the New Hope Separate Baptist Church and was a retired EMT with Adair County Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Hill and Valley Saddle Club and was a Farrier of horses for the surrounding counties.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Watson and a brother, Lynn Scott Watson.

James R. Smith, 76, of Columbia, KY died Friday, November 1, 2019 at 8:17 P.M. at his home. He was born September 28, 1943 in Russell County to the late Ruel & Olza Holt Smith.  
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Smith, and two brothers, Bobby & Mervin Smith.  He was a farmer.

Robert D. Cox, Jr., 76, of Elizabethtown, KY died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born June 26, 1943 in Hodgenville, Kentucky to the late Robert D. Cox, Sr. and Audria B. Cobb Cox. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carlus F. Cox, Sr.  
 
He professed faith in Christ at an early age and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Hodgenville for several years and later at Eunice Church of God in Columbia.  He was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Gates Rubber Company.

Clifford Larry Carnes, 66, of Campbellsville, KY, beloved husband of Mamie (Kidwell) Carnes, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. He was born on June 15, 1953 to the late Clifford and Betty (Bryant) Carnes.
 
Mr. Carnes had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of God’s Grace Church. He was an avid golfer, he loved bowling, and he enjoyed watching sports of all types. Mr. Carnes was a former employee of Airborne Express and a cherished father, brother, and grandfather.
 
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Vernice Carnes; and 3 siblings: Ronald D. Carnes, Darlene Decker and Gary Carnes.

ASHLEIGH NICOLE SWINEY, 30, CAMPBELLSVILLE


Ashleigh Nicole “Ginger” Swiney, 30, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at her home in Campbellsville. She was a daughter of the late Steven Swiney and Sonya Renee (Bryant) Catlett.

 

Mrs. Swiney had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a patriot and proudly served her country honorably in the United States Army. Though cystic fibrosis would eventually claim her life, she rarely complained, and will be remembered for her good-natured pranks and her infectious laughter.

Angela Deanna Brumley, 45, of Jamestown, KY died Friday, November 1, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was born August 29, 1974 in Greenwood, IN to the late Billy Wayne & Dennie Giles Pyles.

 

Angela was a Homemaker but had worked as an Accounts Manager with I-H Services. She attended the Brethren in Christ Church in Knifley.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Brumley, and a brother, Mickey Pyles.
