JUANITA RUTH (BACK) TWEEDY, 95, MICHIGAN

 
Juanita Ruth (Back) Tweedy, age 95, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017.  Born July 5, 1922 in Ribbon, Ky., she was the daughter of Ruth Back. She married Marvin Tweedy in 1939 and celebrated 54 years before his passing in 1993. Juanita was a member and deacon of Journey of Faith (Memorial Christian) for over 60 years. She worked for Argus Camera and retired from UMI. Juanita was a big U of M football fan, loved to garden, make photo albums, and cooked fabulous corn and pies.

An aunt Geneva Ballard, sister-in-law Christine Burris and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and friends and relatives in Adair Co.

Jean Allen Taylor Carruth, age 80 of Bowling Green, passed away Monday at the Hospice House in Bowling Green.
 
SURVIVORS:
1 daughter and son-in-law:  Isabelle Jean and Brack Flanagan.
2 sons and daughters-in-law: Gabriel Barton and Nancy Carruth, and Joseph Anthony and Lindy Carruth.  
7 grandchildren:  Joseph Anthony Carruth, II, Matthew Carruth, Kaylen Rollins, Taylor Carruth, Gabriel Carruth, Michael Flanagan and his wife, Sarajane, and Lauren Kelly Phelps and her husband, Will.
4 great-grandchildren.
 
There will be a Funeral Mass held at 12:05 P.M., Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green.  Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home in Greensburg are in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be after 10 A.M., Friday at the church until time of the Funeral Mass.
 
Graveside services for Jean Allen Taylor Carruth will be held at 3:30 P.M., Friday at the Greensburg Cemetery in Green County.

William “Sapp” Johnson, 80, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He was born August 17, 1937, in Taylor County, to the late William Henry and Cleophas Goldsmith Johnson and was preceded in death by his wife; Geneva Flowers Johnson in 2007.

BARBARA BROOME, 83, BREEDING

 
Barbara Broome, 83, of Breeding, KY went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 10:25 P.M. at her residence. She was born January 29, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late John W. and Edna Mae Cole Giles.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Broome. Barbara was secretary for Dunn & Bradstreet in Memphis for over 30 years, for Bartlett Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee and after moving to Columbia for Columbia Baptist Church until retiring for the third time. She was a long-time member of Columbia Baptist Church, teaching the Fellowship Sunday School Class for many years, a founding member and Secretary/Treasurer of the Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department.

SUSIE MAGDALENE "MAG" DUDGEON, 90, COLUMBIA

 
Susie Magdalene “Mag” Dudgeon, 90, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Monday, August 28, 2017 at 9:57 A.M. at her home. She was born March 10, 1927, in Taylor County, to the late Robert Morris and Delta Lou Cravens Gore.  She married Floyd Dudgeon in 1946 and was married 42 years until his death in 1988.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two siblings; Harvey Gore and Jean Brockman and a nephew; Michael Gore.  She was a member of Cane Valley Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Glenda Faye Wayne, 76, of Russell Springs, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her residence. 
She was born January 29, 1941 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Glen and Robbie Goodman Herrell. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Farrell Wayne, Sr, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

FRANK APPLEBY, 67

 
Frank Appleby, age 67 of the Sparksville Community in Adair Co., KY died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY after a sudden illness. He was born in Casey County, KY on March 10, 1950, the son of the late Chester and Lois Glover Appleby. He was also preceded in death by two brothers
Arnold Appleby and James Appleby. Mr. Appleby was retired from the Gaddie-Shamrock Quarry, where he was employed for 22 years as a rock crusher.

WOODY GOSSER, AGE 74

 
Woody Gosser, age 74 of Russell Springs, died Friday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was born February 17, 1943 in Cinn., Ohio to the late Finis & Dorthy Popplewell Gosser. At a young age, Woody accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and became a faithful member of Salen United Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School class served as church clerk for 39 years. Woody was an educator, supporting and representing teachers as the Kentucky Educational Association (KEA) Uniserv Director for the Middle Cumberland Region for over 37 years. He also enjoyed farming in his spare time. 
 
In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emma Gosser.

Sally Arnett, age 72, of Greensburg, Ky.  died Monday, August 21, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a homemaker.

Ruby was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Walter Jessie and a brother Justin Bennett.

FRANCIS TUTT GLASGOW, AGE 95

 
Frances Tutt Glasgow, 95, of Columbia, KY, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Episcopal Church Home in Louisville. She was born January 23, 1922, in Milltown, KY. to the late James R. Tutt, Jr. and Annie Blakeman Tutt.  She married Glenn Shirley Glasgow on September 5, 1942 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son; David Tutt Glasgow and her five Tutt brothers; Garnett, Page, Tommy, Billy and Herman.
 
She was a member of Columbia United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women for 66 years and a charter member of the Bliss Homemakers Club, belonging for 63 years.  In 1982, she was chosen as Homemaker of the Year by the Business and Professional Woman’s Club.  In 1994, she was awarded the State Homemakers Journalism Award and received the Homemakers State Leadership Award in 2008. She was a 1942 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and a member of their Golden Alumni Society. She loved God, her church, family and friends. Her interests were Genealogy, family history, writing her thoughts, poems and history of Milltown.

Ester H. Kunz, 91, formerly of the Pellyton community, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at 3:40 P.M. at Fair Oaks Health Systems in Jamestown. She was born January 31, 1926, in Germany, to the late Theodore and Marie Schneider Rode.  
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Helmut Kunz and a sister, Christa Rode.  She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church.

Pamela June Hadley age 62, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at 7:04 p.m. at Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY. She was born on May 6, 1955 in Russell County, KY to the late Ewell and Josephine McKinney Antle. Pamela attended Friendship Separate Baptist Church and worked at Fruit of the Loom in Jamestown, KY for many years.
 
In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Antle and two sisters, Betty Popplewell and Maxine Smiley.

Mary Lola Skaggs, 83, of Jamestown, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. She was born October 13, 1933 in Russell County to the late Forest Ray and Ona Jane West Russell. Mary along with her husband operated Skaggs Variety Store for many years.She attended Calvary Temple Church.
 
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Ed" Skaggs; a son, Keith Skaggs; 1 brother and 5 sisters.

Funeral service for Mary Skaggs will 10 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David South officiating. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Interment in the McBeath Cemetery. Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs in charge of arrangements.
 

 

JOHNNY OSBORNE COE, AGE 58

 
Johnny Osborne Coe, 58, of Junction City, KY (formerly of Russell County) died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington. He was born November 20, 1958 in Adair County, Ky. and was a drywall hanger.
 
Preceded in death by his father, Richard Lynn Coe.

1 Granddaughter: McKenna Paige Coe
Mother: Ola Mae Martin, Junction City, Ky

1 sister: Susan L. Coe, Borden, IN
 
A private service will be held at a later date. Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs in charge of arrangements.
