From April 13, 1948 to April 12, 1952, Herb proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. A barber by trade, Herb spent most of his career at Eastown Barbers in Dayton, Ohio where he built countless friendships and left a lasting impression on all who sat in his chair. After retiring as a barber, he joined the staff at Cornerstone Baptist Temple, working with the building maintenance team. In 2004, he and his wife moved from Dayton to Russell County, KY. He was known for his humor, kindness, and unforgettable pranks, which created cherished memories for friends and family alike.
