Elbert was a farmer.

HAROLD LYNN FEESE, 57, GLASGOW (ADAIR CO. NATIVE)

 
Harold Lynn Feese, 57, of Glasgow, KY passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green surrounded by his family. He was born in Adair County on October 14, 1961 to the late Bobby Harold Feese and Ruth (Jessie) Williams who still survives. 
 
Lynn retired from RR Donnelley after 23 years. After his retirement from Donnelley's, he worked for the Glasgow Water Company for nearly ten years. He was a dedicated, hard-working family man who lived and loved to serve God and others. He loved to fish, hunt and play guitar. Lynn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a worship leader for almost 20 years, and he had also served as a deacon.

Ronald Gene Lawson, 57, of Burkesville, KY passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Cumberland County Hospital.  He was born in Burkesville, KY on June 10, 1961, the son of James Robert Cary & Clara Kimbel Lawson. 
 
Ronald was of Holiness faith, a U. S. Army Veteran, and a Factory Worker for Akebono. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Wendell Lee Lawson, and a sister: June Alice Lawson.

Mildred Hardee Willson, 93, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Charles Otis Hardee and Rubye Arlene Adams Hardee, was born July 1, 1925 in Pearl River County, Mississippi. She died at 7:50 A.M., Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Campbellsville. 
 
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. Mildred was co-owner of Willson’s Blue Bunny with her husband, George. They also owned and operated three other shops in Florida after moving there for several years.
 
Mildred united in marriage to George H. Willson June 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death October 28, 2001. She was a loving and devoted wife to her beloved husband, George.
 
She is survived by special friends and caregivers: Shirley Buckner and Shirley Bright of Campbellsville, the Blue Bunny girls and many other friends.
 
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Olivia Hardee.

Sharon Elaine Raikes, 64, of the Mannsville community, the daughter Phyllis Warden of North Carolina and the late Howard “Red” Stayton, was born June 15, 1965 in Crawfordsville, IN and departed this life on Friday, November 23, 2018 in Lebanon, KY at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home. 
 
She had made a profession of Faith in Christ and attended the International Gospel Lighthouse in Acton and was a homemaker.
 
Besides her mother, she is survived by a daughter: Jessica Raikes of Greensburg; a son: Bryan Raikes and wife Melissa Raikes of Mannsville; four grandchildren: Lexi Raikes, Avery Raikes, Kaine Morgan and Gracie Morgan and a host of other relatives and friends.

Opal Sneed Coomer, 84, of Edmonton, KY died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Metcalfe Health Care Center. Born April 9, 1934 in Columbia, KY, she was a daughter of the late Sally Frances Moore and Charlie Sneed. 
 
Opal was the widow of Frank Alfred Coomer. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Richard [Red] Coomer and 1 sister, Ruth Cape.
 
She retired from Sorenson and was of the Baptist faith.

HERBERT RICHARD, 89, of Columbia, KY died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 11:10 A.M. at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY. He was born June 18, 1929 in Adair County to the late Hallie & Mazetta Wilson Richard. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Jane Cowan in 1978.  
 
Herbert was a member of Gradyville Baptist Church, a retired custodian of the Adair County School System and Adair Memorial Hospital.  He also enjoyed bowling, golfing & was an avid UK fan.

GERALD MCLEAN, 76, COLUMBIA

 
GERALD L. McLEAN, 76, of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 4:00 AM at his residence after several months illness. Born in Lebanon, KY on August 17, 1942 he was the son of the late Joseph Lynn and Lottie Durham McLean.
 
Gerald was a lifelong commercial and residential building contractor.  McLean Construction Company renovated the Adair County Courthouse, constructed the John Adair School and the Adair County Library.  Gerald McLean was the project manager for the Lindsey Wilson College Cranmer Dining Center, Fugate Science Building, Holloway Health and Wellness Center along with numerous other projects on the  campus.  He attended the 3trees church and he enjoyed boating on Green River Lake and his annual Gatlinburg, Tennessee trips.

Dorothy Williams, 86, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of the late William Buck Dudgeon and Bertha Mae Watson Dudgeon was born January 26, 1932 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 12:15 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Campbellsville.         
 
Dorothy professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist Faith. She was a homemaker who was a fantastic cook and loved feeding and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She was a loving Mother and could always see the good in people.
 
She united in marriage to Roy Oscar Williams Jr. May 18, 1953. He preceded her in death November 23, 2006.

JACK EASTRIDGE, 84, ELK HORN

 
Jack Eastridge, 84, of Elk Horn, KY, a son of the late M. C. Eastridge and Dora Barr Eastridge, was born January 18, 1934 in Adair County, KY. He died at 12:15 P.M., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Elk Horn.         
 
He professed faith in Christ and attended Mt. Zion Church of God. He had also served as a Deacon for thirty-one years while attending Mt. Washington Baptist Church. Jack was a retired dairy and grain farmer and loved every aspect of farming, as well as hunting birds, raccoons and rabbits. When not out farming or hunting, he could be found sitting at the kitchen table, looking out at his cattle and the countryside. Even with such hardworking and honest traits, he was still a huge cut-up and loved to joke around.
 
He united in marriage to Wyeneth Humphress on December 24, 1953.
 
Besides his wife, Wyeneth Eastridge of Elk Horn, he is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter: Terry Eastridge and wife Kelly, Debbie Payne and husband Travis “TJ” and Darrel Eastridge and wife Lisa of Campbellsville, Greg Eastridge and wife Janet of Catlettsburg and Doug Eastridge of Harriman, Tennesse; 6 grandchildren: Jonathan Eastridge and wife Crystal and Susan Trimble and husband Nick of Ashland, Cory Eastridge, Tyler Payne and RonniBeth Payne of Campbellsville and Jaclyn Ellis and husband Austan of Bowling Green; 1 step-granddaughter, Amanda Luckett of Campbellsville; 2 great-grandchildren: Zoey Trimble and Sadie Trimble of Ashland; 2 step-great-grandchildren: Abby Brisko and Drew Cross of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

CARMEN MALONE, 84, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 
Carmen Malone, 84, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of the late John Shelby Lemmon and Betty Ann Brockman Lemmon, was born June 24, 1934 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 8:14 A.M., Monday, November 19, 2018 in Campbellsville. 
 
Carmen professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. As a homemaker, Carmen’s house was always very well kept and well organized. She truly enjoyed taking care of her family and that naturally carried over into her care of children at the Kiddieland Daycare where she was loved.  Carmen also enjoyed spending time with friends and line dancing.  
 
She united in marriage to William Logan “PeeWee” Malone , Jr. August 15, 1952 and he preceded her in death June 21, 2004.

Bobbie Blakeman, 83, was born June 20, 1935 in Taylor County, KY to the late Early and Alma Coffey Blakeman. He departed this life Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Green Hill Nursing and Rehab.
 
He had a made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church for 58 years. He was a National Guard Veteran and a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124 Greensburg, KY. He was united in marriage to Margaret Henderson Blakeman, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers: Temple Kirtley, Edna Parrott, Lula Havens, Olin, Early, Craddock, Leo and Melvin Blakeman.

Gerald Hodges “Hodge” Skaggs, 88, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of the late Ernest Hamilton Skaggs and Annie Elizabeth Matherly Skaggs was born November 26, 1929 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 9:30 P.M., Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Campbellsville.       
 
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Hodge retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after some forty years of service. He loved the outdoors and could often be found wading, fishing or hunting wild mushrooms when he was not spending time with his grandchildren and the rest of his family.
 
Hodge united in marriage to Dimple Sallee June 28, 1958 and she preceded him in death May 12, 1992.

Hazel Black Vest, 96, of Liberty, KY passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Liberty Care Center. She was born in Middleburg, KY on June 14, 1922 a daughter of the late Arrid Keith Black and Maudie Goodman Black.

 

Hazel was the widow of Jason “Jake” Vest who passed away on October 18, 2013.

James E. Means, 89, of Windsor, KY passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Pulaski County, KY.  Born February 19, 1929 in Clinton County, KY, he was the son of the late Chester and Grace Patterson Means.

 

James was a farmer and an avid sportsman.  He especially enjoyed fishing.

Joy Ann Cain age 79, of Yosemite, KY passed away on Friday November 16th, 2018 at the Casey County Hospital. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 26th, 1939 a daughter of the late Tilden Jefferson Short and Mary Ella Hughes Short.

Joy was a Housewife.

Norman Christopher McMahan, 59, of Campbellsville, KY, a son of Randall R. McMahan and the late Jane Rucker McMahan, was born June 4, 1959 in Taylor County, KY. He died at 8:48 A.M., Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Campbellsville.   
 
Norman professed faith and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He loved to camp and fish and took the opportunity every chance he had.

Bettie Jean Chelf Benningfield, 85, of Campbellsville, KY died Saturday, November 18, 2018 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on May 8, 1933 in the Knifley community of Adair County, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Bettie B. Knifley Chelf and wife of the late Algusta “Gus” Benningfield. 
 
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Maxine Farris and Allene Cundiff and 3 brothers: Herman, Leon and Bobbie Chelf.
 
Mrs. Benningfield was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and a former employee of Walmart for over 20 years, RECC and Central KY OBGYN.

EVA SMITH, 87, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Eva P. Smith, 87, of Campbellsville, KY, daughter of the late Thomas Edward White and Clara Ida Wilson White, was born November 19, 1930 in Plainview, Texas.  She died at 4:45 P.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Campbellsville. 


Eva professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.


She united in marriage to Bill Smith August 27, 1949.


Besides her husband, Bill Smith, she is survived by two sons and two daughters:  Fred Smith and wife, Diane and Beth Caler and husband, David of Campbellsville, Dr. Edward Smith and wife, Sharon of South Carolina and Rita Isbell and husband, Robert of Texas; nine grandchildren: James Robert Isbell and wife Monica, Shane Smith, Sharon Smith, Zachary Smith and wife, Gina, Caleb Smith and wife, Hailey, Jacob Smith, Joshua Smith and wife, Kaitlyn, Hannah Smith Haslam and husband Pete,  and Rachael Smith Lusco and husband, Brian; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sarah Smith and two brothers and two sisters:  Paul White, William “Bill” White, Luna Pendleton and Eunice Baker.

EDWARD R. GORIN, 70, CAMPBELLSVILLE

 

Edward R. “Ed” Gorin, 70, of Campbellsville, son of the late T.J. Gorin, Jr. and Hazel Robertson Gorin, was born August 25, 1948, in Green County, Kentucky. He departed this life at 12:43 P.M., Thursday, November 15, in Clarksville, Indiana at the Wedgewood Rehab and Nursing Facility.

 

Ed loved the Lord and was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Black Gnat. He served as Deacon, Treasurer and Sunday School teacher of the adult men’s class.

 

Ed worked at Fruit of the Loom for twenty seven and one-half years. He also drove a school bus in Green County and worked in the cafeteria at Taylor County High School. He farmed and raised Black Angus cattle and was a member of the Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association. He enjoyed being out on the tractor and talking with the Lord. He also served as magistrate in the fifth district for sixteen years and served on many committees. Ed was a member of the Taylor County Board of Education and truly enjoyed serving the citizens of Taylor County.

 

He united in marriage to Rebecca Altman January 22, 1968. He is survived by one son, Edward W. Gorin and wife, Janet of Greensburg; one granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Gorin of Greensburg; one brother, Maurice W. Gorin and wife, Lois of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Betty Joe Kurcbaum and husband, Morrie of Boca Raton, Florida; one nephew, Brett Gorin of Elizabethtown; one niece, Amanda Mattingly of Lebanon; two great nephews and three great- nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

Glenn was employed as an aircraft mechanic for Federal Express. He was a member of the Santa Rosa, Florida Masonic Lodge # 57 and enjoyed restoring antique cars, and woodworking.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife Joan Willis Streeval on August 21, 1992 and by one daughter Linda Parker in 2015.
J R was employed by Warner Fertilizer in Columbia, KY for 46 years, retiring in June of 2018. He was a member of the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

James Matthew Thompson, 77,  the son of the late Marvin and Ruth (Hash) Thompson, was born June 10, 1941 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Elizabethtown at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. 
 
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Elk Horn Baptist Church. He was a former insurance broker and served with the National Guard. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing a round of golf.
 
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Opal Miller, Judy Shuffett, Wanda Zane Thompson and Pauline Hedgespeth.

Stella Ruth Taylor Derringer, 72, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at her residence. 

 

Born on January 31, 1946, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late George Earl and Martha Taylor. Ruth was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and quilting. She was a member of Plano Baptist Church.

 

Ruth is survived by her husband, Billie Derringer, who she wed on March 12, 1966; two sons, Randy Derringer of Cloverdale, Indiana and Thomas Earl (and Jodey) Derringer of Clayton, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, Mike and Chris; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Cameron, Bo and Thomas; 3 sisters, Anna Norfleet of Somerset, Sue (and James T.) Derringer of Martinsville, Indiana and Wanda (and Roger) Price of Stanford; and two brothers, Bill Taylor and Joe (and Judy) Taylor, both of Casey County.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Taylor.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Rose was a life long and active member of Russell Springs First Baptist Church. She was community spirited, having been active in many civic organizations including the Business & Professional Womens Club, which she also was named the 1981 BPW career woman of the year. She was a special edcuation teacher.
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Tarter, and 2 sisters, Donita and Lemoyne Jones.

Ruby Clark, 94, of Campbellsville, KY, a daughter of the late Willie Matt Dudgeon and Eva Mae Carroll Dudgeon, was born November 8, 1924 in Taylor County, KY. She died at 5:10amET, Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Campbellsville.  
 
Ruby professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pitman Valley Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and dairy farmer and was said to get more milk from her cows because she would sing to them. As a homemaker, she raised six sons and one daughter.
 
She united in marriage to Gordon Clark August 25, 1945 and he preceded her in death, June 4, 2006.

Herbert Louis Atwood, 80, of Stanford, KY passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at home. Born November 5, 1938 in Liberty, KY to the late James “Pete” Atwood and Florence Sweeney Atwood.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, a former member of the Army Reserves, and a retired employee of Allen Company where he worked as a truck driver. He was also a member of Watson Chapel Christian Church.

Billy Cheyenne Rowland, 44, of Hustonville, KY passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at his residence. Born on September 11, 1974, in Danville, KY he was a son of Vickie (Tom Collins) McDonald Rowland and the late Larry Rowland.

 

Billy was an avid UK fan. He enjoyed playing cornhole, horseshoes and dancing. He loved spending time with his granddaughter. Billy was formerly a welder.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Ariel Hardesty of Danville; two sons, Austin (and Sam) Overstreet and Zachary Rowland, both of Hustonville; his partner, April Lawless of Hustonville; and four grandchildren, Camber, Haley, Trenton and Logan. He is also survived by a maternal grandmother, Mary Jo McDonald of Liberty; and a special nephew, Alex Lawless.

 

Billy is preceded in death by his parental grandparents, George and Helen Rowland; and a maternal grandfather, Freddie McDonald.

David Ingram Allen, 56, of Campbellsville, KY passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home.  He was born on September 13, 1962 to the late Thomas and Aileen (Hedgespeth) Allen.
 
Mr. Allen professed faith in Christ and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a former employee of Beams Grocery and Thrift Bargain Center, and had continued his mother’s Avon route after her passing. He was a well-respected man in the 1st District, and worked many years as a polling clerk in his precinct. He enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts and old money, and took many a leisurely walk through the woods enjoying God’s creation.

Jimmie Dean Johnson, 63, of Columbia, KY (formerly of Russell Co) died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home. He was born April 24, 1955 in Russell County to the late Garlin & Velma Jane Ford Johnson.
 
He was a construction worker and a member of Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
 
Jimmie was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dean Johnson and a brother, Leonard Garlin Johnson

Earl Porter McCoy, 90, of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY. He was born in Muhlenberg County, KY on October 7, 1928 the son of Elmer and Euvie (Porter) McCoy. 
 
He was of Christian faith, a member of Burkesville First Christian Church, a U. S. Army Veteran, owner of McCoy Chevrolet, and a lifelong farmer. 
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold McCoy, Stanford McCoy, Virgil B. McCoy, sisters, Elnora Scott, Lila Craig, brothers-in-law, Yule Grider, Vernon Grider, J. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher after 40 plus years of teaching, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Green County Library Board.

She was a member of Dutch Creek Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and a Seamstress for Sutton Shirt Corporation. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Dyer, brothers, Lonnie Bee Thrasher and Stanley Earl Thrasher.

Edith Delores Wilcher, 87, of Liberty, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at  Casey County Hospital. She was born in Liberty, KY on January 27, 1931 a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Etta Campbell Hogue.

 

Delores was the widow of Charles Ray Wilcher who passed away on October 16, 1995. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Michael Wilcher and Larry Wilcher, 4 brothers: Marvin Hogue, Charles Hogue Jr., J.W. Hogue and Murrell Hogue and 2 sisters: Mary Helen Wethington and Rebecca Lay.

 

Delores was a former bookkeeper for Liberty Housing Authority.

TOMMY LEE GRISSOM, 54, EDMONTON

 
Tommy Lee Grissom, 54, of Edmonton, KY was born August 28, 1964 in Glasgow, KY to Raymond and Myrtie Olson Grissom. Tommy passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green after a lengthy illness.  
 
Raised in Metcalfe County, he attended Edmonton Elementary and Metcalfe County High School. Raised on a farm his junior year, he got his first job at Big Y Cee Bee and worked for Bill Rush and Novella Hamilton for 6 1/2 years. After the store was sold, he got a job at Cavanah IGA owned by Dallas and Barbara Cavanah and remained there for almost 10 years when the store was sold to Paul and Tana Shade. While continuing to work for Paul and Tana for the next 10 years, he got Meat Manager of Year in 2005.     
 
Tommy was a member of the Edmonton Baptist Church and was very active in the church doing whatever he could do for the church and others.  
 
Tommy was preceded in death by his only sister, Bonnie Grissom and his father and mother in law, Junior and Ethel Fields.

Bro. Cleveland Grant Johnson, 87, of Russell Springs, KY died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. He was born June 18, 1931 in Russell County to the late Leslie & Sylpha Hopper Johnson.
 
He pastored Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church for 44 years.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alouise Wilson Johnson and a brother, Alden Johnson.

Willard Pritchard, 78, of the Glens Fork community of Adair County, KY died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 8:00amCT at his home after a short illness. 
 
Willard was an active member of the Columbia Christian Church. Along with his wife and family, he served the Lord faithfully as a missionary and member of Wycliffe Bible Translators for 23 years. After returning to the United States, he became a funeral director for 15 years in Kentucky and Texas. After retirement, he moved to Kentucky and worked at Wal Mart until 2016. 
 
Willard was born November 10, 1939 in San Bernadino, CA, the son of the late Willard and Kathern King Pritchard.
